The two door flagship from Mercedes-Benz has a rich history since the creation of the S-Class nameplate, but goes by many different names. The last two generations were called CL and now it will be S-Class Coupe, attuned with the smaller C and E Class Coupe. The concept's design is not only grand (measuring 5050mm in length), but also unmistakably Mercedes-Benz. The headlights are inspired from the new S-Class Sedan, while the pronounced, shark-like grill seems to be inspired from the lower end of the brand's line-up, in any case though resulting in a splendid outcome. At the back, the raked rear window and taillights give us a hint of SLS, but that can only be a good thing. Finally, as it's typical for MB, there is no B-Pillar, as to make the cabin feel airy.
Even though this is still a concept, a 4.6l twin-turbo V8 with 455hp (335 kW) and 700 Nm can be found under the hood. The Concept S-Class Coupé is equipped with the "Intelligent Drive" technology, which monitors the surroundings ahead of the vehicle over a range of up to 500 metres using a stereo camera and helps to reduce the burden on the driver via multitude of assistance systems. The stereo camera is also taken advantage of for the suspension settings, as Magic Body Control adjusts the suspension in advance to suit the road coming ahead.
