“This is for you, world” is the claim of the marketing campaign for the new EQS from Mercedes-Benz. That the world will receive the gift of the first fully electric luxury sedan with the star from now on with equally open arms is the firm belief and hope at the Stuttgart headquarters. As Handelsblatt claims to have learned from corporate circles, the inventor of the automobile is calculating with annual EQS sales of up to 50,000 vehicles from 2022. This is a very ambitious plan that would catapult the EQS from scratch to a bestseller level. Just for comparison: the combustion S-Class managed to sell around 60,000 units last year. This made it the best-selling luxury sedan in the world.

Daimler boss Källenius not only spreads confidence in matters of EQS. He firmly believes in the sales success: "With the EQS we will win many new fans for the Mercedes-Benz brand," wrote the Handelsblatt. Källenius' enthusiasm for the star seems genuine and sincere: “With a range of up to 770 kilometers, the WLTP is a luxury sedan that deserves its name in this segment. We also have the spectacular Hyperscreen. In itself, this is the largest screen that we have ever installed in a Mercedes. It opens up a completely digital world for the driver or the passengers in the car. And of course what you expect from a Mercedes: Luxury meets high-tech. Every detail is perfect. This is a Mercedes through and through - and now as an electric car ",

Ola Källenius has not yet commented on the sales prices. It is assumed, however, that the EQS price list should start at around € 100,000. If this is the case, the entry-level version of the EQS would be a lot more expensive than the basic version of the Tesla Model S, which is currently available for 86,990 euros with all-wheel drive and a specified 663 km range. The Daimler boss left no doubt that the company wanted to earn money with the EQS. The return would be "reasonable", but - OK also said - the combustion S-Class would be far more profitable than its fully electric equivalent.

50 thousand in a year I doubt they can sell that many next year and secondly I doubt that can make so many as well...

Porsche sold 9000 Taycans in Q1 (tying 911 sales), so 50k EQS in 2022 seems possible, imo. And if it turns out to be somewhat ambitious, with MB over-producing them, then good for us as potential buyers...prices will be a bit better as a result.

Maybe learn to read past 2 posts? Or is that too hard for your shit brain
You’ve been here too long to have such childish post. Only people with a limited vocabulary consistently use profanity.

If you can’t tell the difference between a Honda and a Mercedes, then educate yourself instead of catching feelings.

Car Manic tested the rear seats in a recent video. In an EQS which appears to have the optional Executive Package.
Found it quite spacious, and the seats also recline electrically just a little bit, perhaps similar to the W126 1981 500SEL. :)

Thanks @Wolfgang ! It does look spacious.

as i am saying it the whole time:
- full tinted glass (to making the greenhouse looking cleaner)
- side, front, rear skirts in car color (because the black one, althouh they are now in glossy black, making the car look like an entry-model)
- 22 inch wheels (those 21'' amg on the first pic looking for old grandpas)

and the car is another world, much cooler, visualy sits lower to the road

if i will buy one, those 3 thing will be done the first day and thats it
