I have driven the E53 sedan, I can say it has a touch of sporting edge and the inline 6 with the 48v hybrid assist is butter smooth. It feels smooth and fast but not shockingly fast.I'm waiting to see the E53 Sedan.

The engine of the 53 has a deeper note, but it still pops and crackles just as loud. I haven't driven the E 53 for long enough to give a definitive opinion but to me it feels like the E 53 has a little more "shove" at the mid range to higher rpm.
