E-Class (W211) Mercedes-Benz E-Class W211 Picture Thread

The Mercedes-Benz W211 is the third generation of the E-Class range. Made from 2002 to 2009 in sedan/saloon (W211) and station wagon/estate (S211) configurations – replacing the W210 E-Class models and superseded by the Mercedes-Benz W212 in 2009. Production: January 2002 – April 2009 (sedan), February 2002 – June 2009 (station wagon).
This model have style and elegance the new E-class obviosly lacks. Only things that better with the new E-class is the interior.
W211 is the best looking E-class. In Sweden you can get great deal with a W211. In the paper MB advertise you can save up to 110.000 swedish kronor for a brand new. Thats a lot.

Just want to say that I've seen two W211's that have caught my attention recently. First one was a 2009 for sale at a BMW Dealer which was a beautiful white, and selling for only $19K (insane the depreciation on that generation). Made me really re-fall for that car. IMO the facelift W211 with AMG Package's face is one of the nicest of all time. Instant classic, IMO out-classing any face on an M-B coming out today.

Then I saw a silver E55 (pre-facelift) the other day, with smoked tails. DAMN is that thing a timeless beauty. Classy yet sportily aggressive in its own way that isn't trying to be anything that it's not. Effortless, simple, timeless yet well thought out.

Sometimes I really miss mine. The car had its fair share of problems in the rather short time I owned it, but I feel like I truly loved that car even more than I did my W212's.

Such a classy model!

To bring this thread back to life, the W211 is such an elegant and timeless design.

Drove along side an E55 the other day, still looks great.
Agree 100% and if people look closely, there are a lot of common design theme in the side profile of the W211 and the W213.

The W211 is one of the best looking E-class models in my opinion. It's design is timeless, it has perfect proportions and nice design touches, especially the curves of the headlights are cut into the bonnet line and the rear looks still very modern. What amazes me most is that it looks so compact in real life, it looks to be almost the size of a C-class and not a big 4,8m car like it really is

Matt got to drive an E55 with hand controls.

Agreed. This is before the design direction went to shit. The cars of that era were so pretty and elegant.

Given his brief tenure and the long gestation period of these cars, I wonder how much Pfeiffer actually influenced these cars and if it was more Sacco's work. Because once Sacco left, that's when Pfeiffer started his angular, retro nonsense. Wagoner towed the line at the time, but as soon as he gained control drastic changes were implemented to bring back beauty and elegance.

I'm pretty certain that these cars were Sacco's creation as the W203 or W220 were designed way back into the mid 90s and incidentally Pfeiffer became design head in 1999 if I'm correct..I think these cars were Sacco's final gifts to car design in general and MB fans in particular with the beautiful and refined appearence of that generation which have set the tone for future design in general..and yes the current designs headed by Wagener does a nice job at recapturing the style of those cars..

After seeing photos posted by @fortuner of his freshly cleaned E class, I too went for a full wash of our W 211. The paint on the car is in excellent condition, the scratch resistant ceramic clear coat has maintained its glossiness after all these years. Also, number plate is hidden properly (y). The car doesn't look its age and it certainly drives like a brand new car. The level of comfort and refinement is still extremely impressive.

I actually look at this car and the w213 and can see the similar type of smooth beautiful design work.

Thanks my friend! I am driving the W 211 more now because the batteries needs to be topped up. I also can't believe the original batteries lasted for 12 years before needing to be replaced! The more I drive the car, more I come to appreciate it, my C 250 is nice but the E class, even at this age, is still the E class.

A typical car wash in Sydney cost between $25 to over $100, depending on where you go and how much care and attention you want for the car wash. For me I always wash the cars myself since I have the driveway and the front yard space to wash the cars.

Oki so the car wash in Auz is actually around or even more then the UK.

Yeah I do wash mine and clean the inside in the summer if I can.

In winter it's near impossible.

In South Africa I had the luxury of a car wash person at my work place and my car was washed atleast 3 times a week..Now not even 3 times a month.
