The Mercedes-Benz W211 is the third generation of the E-Class range. Made from 2002 to 2009 in sedan/saloon (W211) and station wagon/estate (S211) configurations – replacing the W210 E-Class models and superseded by the Mercedes-Benz W212 in 2009. Well...not sure what to say about this, except I have seen another yellow W211 before in Sydney.

Came across this today, I think those Carlsson wheels (I think) are a great match on the W211.

This has been said many times, but the W211 has aged very well.
And owners are hanging onto them too, I still see more than a few around, and there are still plenty on the streets in Hong Kong as well.

Just a photo update of our W211. After 13.5 years, it still drives like it is new. Smooth, quiet, comfortable ride and still have plenty of power. It is build like a tank.

Such a beautiful timeless looking vehicle. Pretty damn amazing how gracefully it has aged. In fact it doesn't look aged at all. It looks perfectly passable as a contemporary design.

Unfortunately ours was plagued with electronic gremlins which is why we sold it at the end of warranty.

It isn't common to see another car in almost identical spec, so I had to park next to it. You guys can guess which car is which.

I loved the W211 ever since I seen it back in 2002.
I found this E350 with 2 owners and jumped on it. Normal mileage for its age and fully loaded. Seems to have been maintained by the owner.

But like every aging German car, it started falling apart lol. In the last year, it needed more than it's worth in repairs. From wrapped rotors (twice) to wheel bearings, to a rear differential. It just seems to never end. On top of that, features in the interior stopped working. From keyless go to sunshades for the panoramic sunroof/rear.
I also missed modern conveniences like a back up camera and blind spot monitoring.

So I started looking for a W212, and moved on:

Still is a very, very fast car.
