Mercedes-Benz E-Class Owners Photo Gallery Thread

K-A, your E-Class is really making me consider one. I was almost gonna wait until the facelift, but with rumors that the lights may become a single unit, I don't think the FL will be an improvement. If I do, i'll probably go for black or silver. Any suggestions?

Thanks and glad my car can be of some persuasion! I really enjoy it more and more every day. With the W212 if you get a nice and clean packaged example, and even if you just tweak a few little things, it really brings out the potential in how incredibly dynamic the design is, along with how much true presence it has within it, IMO.

Based on what I see about the facelift, I'm sure it'll look nice, but won't be as much "fun" for a stately Sedan as the current E is to me (looking).

I would say silver! I think black can look very powerful on the E, but I personally have never liked black cars too much. Too hard to maintain, and also it hides the lines pretty heavily. You can't go wrong either way however.

To be honest, I was really considering white, but I didn't want to have a car that was EXACTLY the same as yours. Its funny how these "internet relationships" kinda influence our decision in life eh ;)

And you're right, I really like silver. I think silver is almost the quintessential, staple color for M-B.

Haha, I know what you mean about the internet relationships. It is funny in how it influences us in "real life".

Silver is a great M-B color indeed!

My god that W124 interior is classic. I must purchase a 500E soon.

It was a beauty wasn`t it?
There are some really good examples out there that go for as much as $35,000

It is still my favorite Benz of all time. Mercedes still doesn't have anything as unique as this in the lineup today, IMO.

I would take a 1994 Mercedes E500 with 40,000 miles on it before a spanking new 2012 Lexus LS430!

In fact, I would take the W124 E-Class before quit a few new cars today.:)

True that, it`s because the E550 is now a common model in the Merc line up.

Merc1, What would you think about a special edition W212 E-Class called "E500" to comemorate the W124 model.
This special-edition E500 would feature 4-place seating (like the W124), full leather interior, standard sport package with 18in sport wheels.
and a power boost Bi-Turbo V8 good for 450hp, (not to step on the toes of the E63) plus standard rear-wheel drive. That would be awesome I think!

Mercedes should do something like this just before the W212 gets replaced. It would go out with a bang!!

That sounds good, but I want them to do an E with a special body like the W124 had. Completely different fenders/trim etc. Or I would like to see a limited production E600 with the V12 and the special body just like the 500E, no AMG trim at all. Just wider fenders/track and a bespoke interior.

It's like they looked at Darth Vader's helmet, and said "Ja, vee need to put something like that under zee hood."

Ah, when M-B looked bad-ass without even trying....suddenly, I'm one of those old curmudgeons longing for "those good ol' days."

Yep, I forgot about the wide-body fenders... I`m trying to figure out how you would do those on the W212 with that convex Panton rear fender treatment at the rear. In front, you would have to work
around the clam-shell hood, it wouldn`t be easy. As for as sport-packages go, I believe you would have to go with it. I mean if you look at the W124 E500, compared to the E320 it had a sport-package with it`s side skirts and lower front air dam.

An E600 would be going too far, lOl! that would step on the toes of the E63!

Those W124's are looking epic. I'm starting to think that a W124 in decent condition would be a nice car to have around. I mean, I'm sure you can get one for under $5K now.... can't really think of a better material way to spend that money.

After seeing my W212 next to its Poppa, it makes me feel like it might need a Father figure in its life. :D

The more I see the W212, the more I think is the Merceesd-t offering of the last 20 or so years. They hit the nail with the W204, W221 and W212 generation.

I agree. I love the W203/W211/W220 gen as well, but they weren't classic M-B in the presence or character sense, though they did keep in line with the styling language traits (clean, understated, elegant). The W202/W210/W140 gen I also love as an M-B enthusiast, but it wasn't their strongest at all.... perhaps their most disjointed.

The current Sedan lineup really captured that classic essence and modernized it toward the future as well. IMO the W212 is like a celebration of 70's/80's and slightly 90's M-B's, in all respects, with obvious revolutionary-for-MB traits thrown in (like the lines, artsy detailing, etc.), and of course a nod to the very early M-B's with the Ponton fenders.

Came across this. Talk about a timeless rear end. Doesn't get more timeless than this.

I love how the lines and even the trunk cutlines are so defined, resolute, and confident. No squiggly stylized lines, no fuss, all business. Hell, I even like the trunk release.

A buddy of mine had his dad's old car, a 300E, when we were in high school.... everything operated smoothly, even after 150000 miles. If you got the cash to buy and maintain a good used one, I'd say go for it. Really is one of my favorite M-Bs.

Exactly. M-B's need straight, solid, and hard lines to look good, IMO. If you compare this rear to some newer M-B rears, they look like melted, soft wax, which will make them look old-fad after some time. This is one reason why I've come to appreciate the W212's simplified rear as well, as it is very purposeful and straight to the point.

Also, the W126 rear of course is royalty. :D
