Marcus, just for the record, my strong disdain for the CLA has nothing to do with my love for the blue propeller. On other hand it is motivated by my strong dislike for poser vehicles. I dislike the 5GT with almost the same fervor.

No, but BMW's hand is surely shaking. It's losing its sporty image these days... at least among enthusiasts
The numb steering feel in new BMWs is enough reason IMO. The 3-Series tho is still one of the best all-round cars in the world... the CLA cannot be compared to it.

As usual you missed the point by a country mile. No one is comparing the 3-Series to a CLA.

Poing being, that the 3-Series has dropped some very important comparison tests also and no one is calling it a failure. Lexus IS has beaten it, along with the Cadillac ATS, yet no failure declaration. That was the point.

This is but one test and one aspect of judging a car (buyers don't usually care what a autorag says) and yet the usual MB haters are so quick to say the CLA is a flop. Typical.

I base that on my test drives also. When I see that the media shares the same opinion... it only confirms it further for me.

Failure would mean it doens't sell, has poor quality, never does well in testing and MB drops it. You not liking car and dropping one test doesn't make it a failure. Pure hater bullshit. You brought the word failure to this discussion it wasn't me. I only said that I can see more failure in it than in the F30... that doesn't mean I see the car as a complete failure.

I don't think it did. And I also think the CLA could have been a much better car. You're acting as if the CLA is going to win from the A3 sedan in other tests.....but it won't. It's inferior.
