BMW may be planning AMG Black Series competitors
Word has it BMW has its heart set on giving the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series a run for its money in the US. According to BimmerBoost.com, the German automaker has been making more and more noise about offering a number of specialty models aimed specifically at enthusiasts. While at the Detroit Auto Show this year, the BMW PR machine revealed 2013 will be "an interesting year" and that buyers can expect one or two products aimed specifically at swiping buyers from the clutches of the C63 AMG Black Series. The news came courtesy of Automobile writer Marc Noordeloos' Twitter machine.

Noordeloos reportedly interviewed several executives familiar with the M models while in Detroit, and says the M division would like to offer hardware like the M3 CSL, GTS or CRT to buyers here in the States. That sounds great to us, but saying something doesn't make it true, and manufacturers rarely find it in their hearts to bring money-losing machines to our green shores. Still, that won't stop us from crossing our fingers.

As per usual it has been taken out of context. My colleague actually mentioned C63 AMG sedan and coupe. Which will be competitors for the BMW M3 and BMW M4 respectively. Lets just say that it will be interesting on how to progress these models within their life cycle as they are currently said to be at a new level of driver entertainment and communication than the current cars.

Very interesting news. Chassis are one of my main reasons to why I choose BMW over MB... and the engines of course.
Let's see what's coming but I smell something softer in BMW's mind... ala F10 M5

Maybe I'm wrong. But wasn't Arnd Meyer originally poached from BMW?

Don't worry, Tobias Moers is still at AMG. So the show will go on. Maybe Mercedes should hire some of the people who had a hand in engineering the Porsche Panamera to fill the void left by the departure of Arnd Meyer.

Look who may be joining AMG's team?

Michael Schumacher to Help Develop Mercedes-Benz Road Cars?
Having recently stepped down from Formula One racing, Michael Schumacher is reportedly set to play a role in the development of road cars for his former employer.

Schumacher was replaced at the Mercedes AMG F1 team late last year by Lewis Hamilton, but according to comments from team principal Ross Brawn, the seven-time world champion is keen to stay on and help develop road cars for the Mercedes-Benz brand.

“The development of models, particularly high-performance cars, is something he [Schumacher] enjoys very much,” Brawn revealed to Autocar.

Schumacher has already been signed up as an ambassador of AMG, just like fellow F1 ace David Coulthard. And he has appeared at a number of recent launches, including that of the SL63 AMG.

Additionally, Schumacher already has a lot of experience helping fine-tune road cars. He helped with the development of several Ferrari models during his time with the Prancing Horse, including the Enzo-based FXX, 458 Italia and even the California.

Let’s hope the first port of call for Schumi is the upcoming Mercedes-Benz SLC sports car.

SLC by Shumi? If Merc doesn't fail with design it will one the best cars to come from Germany (mid-front engine, transaxle gearbox, light, compact, powerful, luxurous).

I hope the SLC will look good and different to the SLS. We have not seen anything scoops of the SLC so far. I hope it is worth the wait. Seeing the scoops of the interior of the next C Class. I think the interior of the SLC will be quite different to the SLS. Im in no way saying I hope the SLC's interior mimics the next C Class, I am just saying it should have a different "language" to the SLS.
