Merc sales affected by the freeze of their registration by French authorities

Thanks to French magazine L’Argus I can share with you a relatively rare ranking: the 300 most popular models in France in July! There are a few changes compared to the first July ranking I published, among them the Mercedes E-Class up to #77 with 507 sales vs. #98 year-to-date. In fact, the E-Class is one of the only Mercedes up this month, because the brand’s best-sellers are affected by the freeze of their registration by French authorities on the basis that they are using air conditioning refrigeration gas forbidden by the European union. The whole affair is unprecedented in Europe, with the European Commission and German registration authority KBA now backing the French… As a result the models affected plunged in the French ranking in July: the B Class is down 32 spots to #73, the A-Class down 45 to #84 and the CLA down 91 to #168…
