765LT McLaren 765LT Videos

Unveiled on 3 March 2020, the 765LT is a limited (765 units worldwide) version of the 720S and the successor to the 675LT as a Super Series Longtail car, focused on track performance. The M840T engine is now rated at 765 PS (563 kW; 755 hp) at 7,500 rpm and 590 lb⋅ft (800 N⋅m) of torque at 5,500 rpm achieved with a higher-capacity fuel pump, forged aluminium pistons and a three-layer head gasket from the Senna.
The LT lap used Goodyear Supercar 3R which relative to Trofeo Rs are:

"just a little bit slower but comparable .... $700 cheaper then trofeos"

Discussion here:

Senna lap used Trofeo Rs.

What are people’s thoughts? I was given the opportunity to trade mine in for a spider but I’m staying coupe. I prefer the overall look of the coupe and to me, a convertible isn’t in keeping with the LT spirit.

So I’ve never attempted to thrash a 720/765
back to back around a track. But I have a fair amount of seat time in 720s and 16 months of ownership of the 765. I can tell you all that the 765 is an entirely different beast from the 720. I find the 720 amazingly quick but quite comfortable, composed, and sort of boring. The 765 is an absolute unhinged monster (most of the time, it settles if you’re just cruising around, kind of). Perhaps that contributes to the similar lap times. But I can unequivocally say the 765 feels MUCH quicker and more immediate than the 720. I think on a lap we’re well into the land of diminishing returns but on the street, it makes the 765 much more fun.
