765LT McLaren 765LT Videos

Unveiled on 3 March 2020, the 765LT is a limited (765 units worldwide) version of the 720S and the successor to the 675LT as a Super Series Longtail car, focused on track performance. The M840T engine is now rated at 765 PS (563 kW; 755 hp) at 7,500 rpm and 590 lb⋅ft (800 N⋅m) of torque at 5,500 rpm achieved with a higher-capacity fuel pump, forged aluminium pistons and a three-layer head gasket from the Senna.
Maybe I am getting old, but I start to dislike Novitec stuff. It is overly loud and to me, Ferraris and McLaren sound the same after Novitec exhaust treatment. They lose their own character.

Getting a little tired of all those 765LT drag races. Not sure this is the main purpose of this car...

In agreements with last two posts, what’s the main purpose of a car like this anyway except to bring enjoyment? Brooks like to drag race, the 765 is possible the greatest of all time at this. It brings him enjoyment and I for one am
happy he provides so much data in his videos for us in return. If the track is your thing, go for it. There’s a track about 20 miles north of my house. I’ll be there in my LT often. However, don’t expect any videos :).

I posted this on Fchat to the same video.

Just watched the video. It’s about what I’d expect. Some thoughts:

1. it looked chilly there, 50’s for sure. No way a RWD drive can get adequate traction in that environment on essentially a dusty road

2. why didn’t they run on their prepped surface for a few?

3. surprised that the Mclaren seems to gain on the SF90 during gear changes, I figured the E motors of the SF90 would fill in the gaps more.

4. I think at PBIR the 765 wins by a car length in the 1/4. On the street, the SF90 is just going to win. Electric power and AWD just does it. However, even on that surface I figured the SF90 would rip off better than 2.8 seconds to 60. Basically it shows how bad the conditions were considering a couple weeks prior in Puerto Rico Brooks did 2.2 seconds to 60 in an SF90 on the street.

1. This is evident from the best 0-60mph time of 3.1s (vs 2.8s for the SF90).

2. Good question.

3. Yes, from a roll the LT is clearly the faster, this is especially evident when the SF90 gets a jump.
