McLaren 600LT

Ok. Then I get what you meant ... but those display graphics are the last thing to get adapted ... :)

When this beautiful Porsche 911 GT2 RS visited the Hennessey facility, we headed out to the Pennzoil Proving Grounds to see how it compared to John's McLaren 600LT, which has been modified with downpipes and a tune.

A banging reviews. As drivers cars, Mclarens are second t...

Yep. I think with the 600LT and 620R McLaren absolutely nailed it in terms of driving experience. Maybe more than with the Senna (too technical, too much downforce) and maybe even more than with the 765LT ... which has to fulfill everyones expectation to beat GT2RS in terms of raw speed/laptimes.

Menzel tested the 720S on normal street tires...

Ok - Mending AFB. I somehow doubt, that Gebhardt will be faster with 720S on Trofeo-R around Nordschleife compared to his GT2RS laptime on Michelin Cup2R.
Hockenheim, I dunno.
So I feel: To demolish the GT2RS (even the MR version) on any thinkable track, the 765LT is needed. And tbh: It is the right weapon. LT at McL is what the RS label is at Porsche ... price wise there is almost no delta between a GT2RS with Weissach package and a 765LT ...

The point people are making is that if the 720S is so close to the GT2 RS on Corsas, when the GT2 RS is on Cup 2 Rs, and even beating it occasionally, then if you give the 720S Cup 2 Rs (which are several seconds faster), it's no contest.

Look and Mendig AFB or Magny-Cours GP where the GT2 RS was on Cup 2 Rs and still lost, which is like losing an MMA fight while using a Glock.

I don't feel the 720S has anything to prove against the GT2 RS, and the 765LTs aim is really to be significantly faster than the 720S.

McLaren seems hell bent on sticking with Pirelli though. They should offer the Cup 2 R as an optional tyre.

Why? Just for the sake of magazine track tests and PR? Why offer a tyre that isn't a true road tyre for a road car and have people nearly kill themselves in the wet? People have the option of selecting whatever tyre they want after purchase and tyres are a wear and tear item that inevitably need replacing regularly anyway.
