Maybach 57/62 (W240/V240) Maybach 62S coming in November.

The Maybach 57 (W240) and 62 (V240) were the first automobile models of the Maybach brand since its revival by DaimlerChrysler AG (now Mercedes-Benz Group AG). The concept car and production models were based on the Mercedes-Benz W140 S-Class. Both models had an "S" (Spezial) option, and additional Landaulet version for the 62 S. Production: April 2002 – February 2013, 3,321 produced.

Back in December, Mercedes division Maybach unveiled the Maybach 57 S — an AMG-tuned version of the large ultra-luxury sedan. Billed as a driver-oriented version of the often chauffeur-driven car, the car has sportier suspension, increased output, and other performance enhancements. Now, Maybach is reportedly planning to unveil the Maybach 62 S — a similarly tuned version of the larger Maybach 62. According to Germany's Auto-Presse, the car will have similar enhancements to the 57 S, with output in excess of 600 horsepower. An unveiling is expected by November.

cool..i hope they tighten up the looks..
cause the 57s looks super:D

Another model that won't save Maybach. I can't imagine having a sporty version of such a road whale as the 62. This isn't going to do a thing. It appears that the 57S hasn't even drummed up any real sales either. This is hopeless.

I do feel a bit bad for DCX. Although I have been very very critical of Maybach, I would hate to see it fail completely. The actual Maybach car is beautifully built -- yes, it's outrageously expensive ....but you can see the obvious higher level of sophistication in the interior compared with the S class. The Maybach interior is everything the S class's should be anyway ...but I guess you have to pay much much more for that level of quality these days.

Yeah I still love the 57S too, wonderful car without a following or home.

I found this outrageous contraption. I don't think it is a chop ...but it might be.

Not sure, but the 62's proportions are ungainly regardless. Can't wait to see what the S version looks like, going to be ridiculous looking IMO.

62S is a stupid idea... most people who own that huge a car... dont drive it so i dont this the upgrades will be noticed... other that the carbon fiber interior... just my 2 cents

That is all true abunawafff ...but this isn't really about performance, it's about exclusivity and prestige. I think there is a market for this vehicle .....Maybach have probably had inquiries about such a model ever since the launch of the 57 S -- but I'm just imagining the price :t-hair:. The 57 S already costs more than the standard 62. This 62 S is going to cost a fortune.

Well you can't say Maybach isn't throwing everything but the kitchen sink at making the current car work, yet another "exclusive option" is being presented:

At the 78th International Motor Show in Paris, Maybach is presenting its Model 57 S in a shining white paint finish for the first time. In this way the tradition-laden German luxury brand is meeting the desire of one of its customers for even more individuality. In standard trim the sporty and luxurious Model 57 S is only available with a single-tone paint finish in either black or silver. The shining new "Antiqua White" finish impressively emphasises the dynamic character of this high-end luxury saloon, whose outstanding performance potential particularly captures the enthusiasm of passionate owner-drivers.

Well I think this is just about the best picture of any Maybach I have ever seen. I still would choose a black one ...but this does look really great.

The Maybach looks awesome in white, I'm sure we will see lots of these in Dubai!

I bet that is the only place where Maybachs really sell well!

They finally saw my White S...

I wondered how long it would take DCX to realize that White is IN and two tone grey is out....:usa7uh:

Nice to reopen a page where the last thread was from 19 years ago 😂

I didn’t know that the concept was a real car rather than a clay/wood model.

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
