GranTurismo Maserati GranTurismo

The Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio are a series of grand tourers produced by Maserati, succeeding the Maserati Coupé and Spyder.
So what do you like the look of more, the Mercedes-Benz CL or this Maserati? -- and how does it compare with the DB9 in your opinion?

This one over CL any day, for me. And DB9 over both of them any day!

1. DB9
2. Maser
3. CL

Simple as that!

No car of today is nicer than AM. Just my opinion. Both AM & Maser have more passion & love in their design than CL, imho. CL is very nice car, but nowhere near those two design wise.

:t-cheers:

Ok Tycoon, Special request

Please change my Log-in name to Maserati

Great, another Maserati fan. :D

did you guys knotice how the wheels resemble the Maserati logo-very very cool.

It does? I don't see the resemblance... You have a good eye Matt!

Bigger interior photo.

Generally impressive, not as striking as the A5 interior. but not boring. Fit and finish looks good from the photo, but you cannot trust these offical photos aynway. Honestly i don't understand why designers cannot design a cover for those 2 ugly holes/cupholders between the front seats. The A5 and the GT interior suffers from this design oversight. Besides that, the only other issue i have with this interior is the windowbag cover on the door (similar to the 599GTB). It looks a bit out of place.

I can tell you, this car would probably have less than perfect fit and finish, it doesn't give a damn about covering the cupholders and putting the windowbag somewhere else... And I still love it. It's what Italian cars are all about. :D

This is difficult Rob. They are both very different Coupes appealing to different markets altogether. Not to mention that they're German and Italian, worlds apart.

I would say both cars are beautiful in their own way. The Maser looks messy and yet full of vitality, while the CL looks like an elegant, near perfect Coupe. :usa7uh:

Yes me too Deutsch:D

and for rob..
the CL is probably the best car of the 3..
and i compare the CL63 to this maserati..as this is sporty..
and allthough i love the MAser..it cant take on the CL63--
so yes the CL is hotter imo..

the DB9 i dont like.. and i feel the maser is waaaay hotter..:D

Some gorgeous cars there. I still have to see the Maserati in person before making a final decision on it, but I really like the car based on the 3 little pics they've issued so far.

For me Aston-Martin DB9 is still the world's best looking production car. Nothing else tops it. That said the new CL and this Maser are fetching also. The CL in AMG sportswear is as elegant a coupe you'll find anywhere. This new Maser is sleek and done up in the best Italian way, overstyled as some have put it. Just what it should be. Either way between the DB9, CL and GranTurismo we have 3 coupes that stomp a mutthole in that hideous Bentley Continental GT.

The Artist is killing me. Rarely I see you prefer any car over an MB. I mean come on ... that fat bulky CL over this beauty ? OK I know MB might be technologically more advanced, more reliable ... etc ... BUT u pick it over this in terms of design .. I don't know man .. That is just too much for me to swallow.

Aston Martin & Ferraris ... the only true alternatives for this beauty ....

others are just .... behind

The Artist: no hard feelings bro, but please be realistic when anything is compared to an MB.

BTW am anxiously waiting for Rob's post & analysis ....

well im sorry then..

The press release confirms certain details about the stylish new coupe and reveals others. The 4.2-liter V8, derived from the Ferrari-designed engine in the Quattroporte, gets a power spike of 9 horsepower up to 405. It's driving through a fully automatic gearbox – presumably the new ZF unit recently placed in the Quattroporte – but we'd speculate the paddle-shifted sequential will find its way in their eventually despite the anticipated availability of paddle shifters on the torque-converting auto-box. Weight is distributed, as reported, in an ideal 49/51 rear bias. The styling was penned by Pininfarina's American wonderboy Jason Castriota, the same guy responsible for the design of the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano and the custom Enzo-based P4/5 one-off.

The GranTurismo's launch at this year's Geneva show marks the (approximate) 60th anniversary of the launch of Maserati's first road car, the original Gran Turismo, which was also designed by Pinin Farina (in an era when words were separated by spaces).

Well, an American designed MC12 also...I don't mind foreign designers designing German or especially Italian cars, as long as they know the job and they are aware of the designer title.
