I know, the CS M3:s have started to climb, a sure sign. However, they are nowhere near the E30 M3 in terms of increase. Three-four years ago ordinary examples went for €5-6k here in Sweden, now they cost at least €14k.

Why the use of M branding to a high performance efficient diesel?
The best selling BMW models are all diesel powered that shows how far we have come along in progress from two decades ago.
M will bring new Efficient ideas such as KERS to take performance and efficiency to the next plateau. An M branded diesel is to signify changing trends , you might not believe it but there is interest in such a concept.

I´m really curius about this car, we´ve read a lot of reports, first the doors ala RX-8, then the shooting brake-ish rear, the names (6er GT, 6er Cs, 6er Gran Coupe...).

And probably it will be pricedhigher than the 6er, so would be much expensive than the CLS and A7.

I'm actually quite excited 'bout these, of course they could have spared that M brand and made it called something else, but if it's got 500+ hp and at least 700 nm then why not A car brand has got to change at some point.. I hope the Gran Coupé isn't gonna be like identical to the Turismo, at this point I haven't really got a clue what it is/is going to be.

I drove a diesel BMW for 8 years and i have only praises for BMW diesels, but under the M badge? An M diesel, not M sport package, but an M diesel? 1st ask yourself how does it sound... Pathetic! No matter what technology and pros, it sounds idiotic! I like my current NA V8 and it has no near torque and low RPM strength compared to my 535d, but an M powered diesel car does not count in my book, no matter what! 1st we've had to accept no NA M cars anymore, but turbo'd M cars... and now a diesel?!

FU, BMW, FU!

Tri-turbo, M package i welcome in the new 5 series - hell yeah, but that's about it. I don't welcome and don't want to see a diesel coming from M GmbH, no matter which numbers and impressions it provides, period.

its kinda how Porsche got the 911 in several derivatives - boxster,carrera, C4s,GT2,GT3, GT3RS all built of the same chassis but badged differently to appeal to different peoples desires. Likewise BMW can come out with tii, SS and IS. Let the ///M breed stick to high revving NA engines. Let the iS be for SAV's, let SS be for mildly turbo charged sports cars and let the SS be for all out hardcore turbocharged insanity. Just saying, thats how I would do it.That way there is something for everyone without making the brand look like its diluted.
