M3 doesn't look very aggressive in these pictures, almost a little feminine actually on the straight-on forward pics.

R8 looks pretty good, Sadly the M3 does not. I think the phots are just weak.

I think many of us has accepted the fact that the new M3 isnt all that great looking..
but we dont care..cause it kicks ass..

but sometimes it feels kinda sad..cause the old one kicked ass in its time..AND looked killer..

Yup and doesn't that talk volumes about M3s ability that despite all these handicaps it can lap the ring with in a sec of the R8 (and with the DCT probably faster) while costing half as much and seating twice as many.

Next to a R8 many cars will like strange, it includes a certain AMG modell as well. R8 is a real eye-catcher due of the low height, width and special design.

new M3 is absolutly fabolous and it looks even better IRL. And yes M3 E46 is showing age compared to this:

Just because you think it's ugly doesn't mean everyone has accepted it is. Thats like me saying just because I think the C63 is tacky and ugly means that everyone else does.

The M3 is easily the best looking in its class. Of course it's going to look a little tame compared to the Audi R8. So are most cars in the world. The M3 still looks great in those pictures, and looks aggresive, just not in comparision to the R8.

I don't really agree with that as it seems in the aesthetics department, the vibe seems to be quite positive from these forums.

I mean when you put a car next to another car as low (and as good looking) as the R8, it doesn't stand a chance. I think the C63 wouldn't look that great next to an R8 either

Ahem, the M3 is a two-door coupe based on a prestige, mass-market family car.
The R8 is a sports car built on the platform of an outrageous supercar.

No wonder the M3 doesn't quite look as capable as the R8.

Then again, I have to say that having laid eyes on the E92 M3 more often these days than is good for my health, the new M3 is just one of the nicest looking cars on the road at any price...
