Continental Lincoln Continental Concept

Butthurt lol
Lincoln had the continental since 1939, where as Bentley copied their name in 1952. Besides I did not notice the exterior styling similarities between the Lincoln's Concept and the Bentley Flying Spur. The back of the Lincoln reminds me of the prologue concept, but that's not a big deal. All cars look the same these days anyway. So Lincoln should not listen to these morons. Bentley is pissed off because it's the design it could have done. Keep on working Lincoln, but make it thr rwd, please)

I don't think Bentley has a problem with the name at all. Bentley's outrage is fuelled by the fact Lincoln has blatantly stolen from one of their designs. I think the reaction of Lincoln's chief designer David Woodhouse is quite telling--even he seems to admit the car is strikingly similar to the Flying Spur. Opinions like yours continue to promote the devaluation of art and original design in general (whether you believe the work is good or bad is irrelevant).

Bentley's concept shown a few weeks ago looks like AM. So bentley should not talking about stealing)

The thing is, Bentley has an identity and a design form. That exp 10, although resembling an Aston Martin, can still fall in line with Bentley's brand identity. Lincoln on the other hand, is at the point of establishing theirs, a true definition of modern American luxury, and that could have been done with the Continental concept. Sadly for them, that wasn't the case. I don't blame Lincoln, for that, I blame the lack of creativity in the auto industry as the attention has been turned to capturing the elements of what makes a particular brand beautiful in an attempt to "look good."

Yes, you're right, the Exp 10 Speed 6 Concept is a logical development of the established styling vocabulary of the Bentley Continental GT.

It`s looking like Lincoln is set to do battle against the Cadillac CT6.
This car is definitely more upscale than the Chrysler 300 class.

That's not good enough of an excuse. Cadillac found a way to make their new flagship "look good" while acknowledging their own styling cues and heritage.

I'm not excusing Lincoln, I would actually like to know what their reasoning (excuse) was for making the Continental look so much like the Bentley (and Prologue) considering the potential for comparisons would be pretty high. I too don't respect when auto brands infringe on another company's designs. But a precedent was set in the industry by multiple brands before this concept, and so far, the industry has applauded that. The only difference now is, Lincoln got called out.

Hopefully this brings an awareness of this issue to the auto world, and a greater level of respect for brand identity is established.

In my opinion they (Flying Spur and Continental Concept) both look like shit.

Well I wouldn't go quite that far but in my opinion this Lincoln concept is better-looking than the Flying Spur.

I think the bigger issue here is that not many expect a huge manufacturer like Ford to resort to things like this. Maybe the Chinese but not Ford.
The concern is originality in which there is nothing to suggest this is a Lincoln.
The similarities are apparent between both vehicles that maybe copy is not the word but mimic and perhaps the solutions needed to refine the Lincoln meant coming to the same conclusion to take out some of the visual bulk and make it more elegant.
However the personal diatribes from designers is unexpected but we never saw Chris Bangle calling out designers when his solution for packaging in the cargo area had to be copied many times over to bring conclusion to a design problem.

The side pofile is ugly,it looks like the front and rear overhang share the same length.

IMO The exterior design is quite up to date even if its a rip off of other cars, however, the combination is working. It is the brand name that is outdated IMO.

I actually do like it. It has taken the best design from both Audi and Bentley, and then used them in such a nice way. Just unfortunate they couldn't be original.

The newly released promo video is quite strange with western music and video game-like effects.
It works well I think. American car makers need to stop trying to be European and start getting back to building genuinely American vehicles once more. Americans seem to have lost some of the pride they once had in their country and its products .......hopefully there can be some kind of revival of what once made the United States respected around the world.
