Great that its a manual, can't say the same for the choice of color.

Purple wears the Zonda rather well. I've even seen the SLS and Veyron in purple and both are mesmerizing in that colour. It works alright on the 993 Turbo too.

i wonder where they sourced the manual transmission from for his Zonda. Also, remind me what the torque figure is like for the 760hp version of the 7.0L V12....

Well Lewis picked a Mercedes as his weekend drive too, most likely.

What a roller coaster day.

We could see this coming several weeks ago. But now the cat is finally out of the bag. It's a win win for everyone:

Lewis: Finally gets to be in a team that will make him the no.1 driver and will build the car and team around him.
Mercedes: They finally get a reason to sign the new Concorde deal and to stay in F1.
Simon Fuller: Delighted to see his client, Lewis, join a team which allow personal sponsors on the suit and helmet.
Perez: Get to live an F1 dream.

However there is one big loser which is Paul Di Resta. In the past weeks he's been moaning to the press about being ready for a top drive. He even ditched Anthony Hamilton as a manger to avoid a conflict of interest with Lewi's seat at Mclaren. Di Resta badly wanted the Mclaren seat. As recently as two weeks ago he joined Jenson Button's talent agency in hope of getting an inside advantage on Lewis seat. But no, Mclaren instantly announced Perez without hesitating. Mostly because Perez has Hamilton-qualities and he comes with a bag of money from Telmex.
