W108/W109 Leno's W108 6.3 To Get The New 63 AMG Engine

The Mercedes-Benz W108 and W109 are luxury cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1965 through to 1972 to succeed the W111 and W112 "fintail" (German: "Heckflosse") sedans. The cars were successful in West Germany and in export markets including North America and Southeast Asia. During the seven-year run, a total of 383,072 units were manufactured. Some publications mention 383,361 units. As the W108 and W109 were only available as 4-door models, similarly squarish Bracq-designed 2-door W111 and W112 coupés and cabriolets filled those niches, and are often mistaken for W108/W109 two-doors.
Someone here said the original car has over 300.000 miles. It means the motor is reaching the end of its life. This is why I think this conversion is rather a good idea, the original M100 engine will surely be displayed while the car will continue to please its owner.

I sure hope some structural reinforcements are on the schedule because the AMG M156 engine is twice as powerful as the M100...

However, I tend to disapprove such swaps and extensive mods of classic cars... But I think here it's quite a nice idea. Overhaul of the car, and keeping the engine safely stored, instead of driving it to its end.
