Rumors Land Rover SUV Coupe

It appears that Land Rover/Jaguar (TATA) are shopping for a "upper luxury segment brand" in order to supplement their current portfolio. Is there a Maserati/Alfa Romeo in TATAs' future ?

They already own a brand which is about as upper segment as it gets Daimler. I’d love to see a new Daimler.

IT's happening guys. However it's unclear whether it will be a regular Range Rover or a limited production Range Rover SVO. Similar to the Rolls Royce Cullinan it's wearing heavy camouflage throughout to conceal the shape.

It makes sense, when they built the CSK run of 3 doors in 1992 they sold like crazy. Interesting I thought 3 door production ended in 84, but no it carried on for the French market until 94. The 3 doors look cool.

Seems that there will be too much Land Rovers in portfolio...
I thought that Velar is meant to fight X6 and GLEc. Still Velar is very cool.

The Velar isn't a coupe and has a conventional rear hatch. If you look at price and size it sits between the a GLC/X3 and GLE/X5. However, like most Range Rovers it is so versatile that it appeal to both utility and style seekers.

“And the award for best usage of automotive camouflage goes to...” It’s not until you look at the wheelbase that you can really tell it’s a 2 door.

I think Londoners in particular are going to love these.

Judging by the people behind the wheel go the G 4x4, I think young Russian and Arab guys will scoop up most of these.

Afterwards it'll be air freighted straight to the Dorchester or Ritz for the runs back and forth to Harrods and Savile Row

Makes zero sense driving a G 4x4 in any city:

I can't wait to see this. A SUV Coupe of this size used to be all their was even with the American brands. This will be a stunner. Damn Land Rover is on fire. Now bring on the Velar SVR.

Wonder if they will do an "Octopussy" edition.

What with #TimesUp and #MeToo...I do not think you would get away with a title like "Octopussy" in today's pussy hatted climate.:nono: Don't think Roger Moore would get away with anything either...RIP.

Yeah - no way in the 21st century. Bond is becoming too poltically correct - there's even talk of making Bond a woman, which would mean throwing all the characteristics we grew to love about Bond. "Man's Man" actors like Roger Moore, Sean Conery, Cary Grant, and the like are an extinct kind.

As a huge Bond fan myself, the future is not looking too good regardless, as all of Flemmings stories have been stressed. Spectre was trash, imo. Almost as bad as Quantum of Solace.
