Joy Defines the Future. BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept.

And it will be OUR fault for not understanding it. :D

This is what I hate about all this marketing nonsense. First line in that video: "we do not build cars..."

Erm, yes you do. :t-banghea

That is because they will not be making their cars the way we are used to.

the teaser image actually reminds me of the floating design elements KTM uses on their X-Bow

The question you have to ask is what will the definition of a Sports car be for the future. Think leaps ahead of what is offered today.
Why do they bother showing the future of a car they won't build anyway?

Best regards,

why can't people wait for the press release and official photos to comment on that car. :t-hands:
i would understand it if there were photos and official statements - complain when you see it!

BMW pretty much have to show case anything more advance than Tesla or Mercedes AMG electric drive in order to claim leaping into tomorrow's technology today! Otherwise it's the same marketing jargon...

Neverthless it's an intereting web preview with see-through rear end perspective.

thanks Jack. I think the car might actually look similar to the X=bow in terms of structural appearance and probably be electric powered.

BMW been a letdown lately so you cant blame some of us if we get suspicious about a so called future car. If this turns out to be a car for the present then its all good.

Why are still here if you're getting so sick & tired of BMW marketing? :t-hands:
Addicted to BMW CM junk? :D

We are all waiting for the good stuff. After all, it is here, and nowhere else, you will find out about it first.

How on earth we can go in one day with an electric powered car to nurburgring.

That s 400km drive to the ring
That s 120km drive on the ring
That s 400km drive back home.

All on one battery without charge in one day.

We all know there is only one way and that s petrol engines. Electric are nice for getting grocery s. A mini electric that s an ok car if you want it. But there must be room for hardcore petrol engines also.

Please stop this nonsense. I want to buy a car that has emotion/intake sound/throttle response/limited slip diff/A car that s sets my hair on fire.

And that s not a futuristic car with no sound and runs out of battery life before i arrived at nurburgring.

so you shoot first and then ask ?

Well, in ten years (or by next friday if the oil runs dry) we will have electric cars that makes 700 kms in one charge... BMW will still be making SUVs by then because they have this strange belief that heavy and cheap to produce cars are the future. :D They are right in one respect.

the real problem is
and this is what people really underestimate is the fact that currently the oil prices are only "low" because of the crisis. what is going to happen when the crisis are over ? yes, the prices are going to rise again.
i understand the current crisis as a small break for the transportation industries, we tend to forget but the barrel was already at 200$.
so for now, the battery/e-engine combo is the only alternative that seems to work. its definitely not environmental friendly - far from that, but people are going to beg for alternatives once the crisis are over.

Guys, chillax, this is just a concept. No one ever said that this will go into production, just that this is to showcase where the cars of tomorrow could be going. In other words, this is just one companies interpretation of "the car of tomorrow", etc. As for what design language this would bring, who knows it could be subtle things like how the CS concept brought the huge front grill, this could bring in new LED lighting, aero parts, interior, etc.

So let's wait and see. :t-cheers:

It would be better if we actually got schwag with the CM junk. Otherwise it is kind of like a big long winded "You'll find out soon enough." Hard via the internet though. :D

I think the intent of CM is a bit like foreplay. But talking about foreplay and the act of foreplay are two different things with two different expected results. Sometimes CM feels like a lot of talk of foreplay without a lot of foreplay action. Not often, but sometimes. And I think people prefer action...at least most do. ;)

For the love of god, don't turn this thread into another CM bashing/praising thread.
