XJ Jaguar XJ Portfolio Edition @ 2008 Geneva Show

The Jaguar XJ is a series of mid-size/full-size luxury cars produced from 1968 to 2019. It was produced across four basic platform generations (debuting in 1968, 1986, 2003, and 2009) with various updated derivatives of each. From 1970, it was Jaguar's flagship four-door model. The original model was the last Jaguar saloon to have been designed under the leadership of Sir William Lyons, the company's founder, and the model has been featured in countless media and high-profile appearances.

This car gives me a feeling of having my grand-childrens buying me a brand new one, as my 60th birthday present :D...!

Did I mention, I'm turning 23 on March 31st ...?

...and speaking of Jaguar XJs'...

Where is that elusive new XJ BEV sedoupe allegedly due for presentation later this year ? Has anyone spotted any mules, production-bodied prototypes, etc.?

I suspect I'll get some shit for this, but I kinda want an X350 XJ. As much as a Jag had to push forward its design language to remain somewhat relevant (I did say "somewhat"), there's a part of me that likes that wood-panelled old-timey Jag, complete with J-gate transmission selector, etc. I generally shy away from lack paint, but it looks proper gangster in it.

I have soured on that car because it represented a missed opportunity imo. My grandma, amongst a bevy of more modern luxury cars, has kept her green 1997 XJ6 Vanden Plas in pristine condition. I have every intention of making sure it stays in the family. I've loved it since I was a child.

The Portfolios should have been badged as Daimler’s. I’d like to see them bring back the Daimler brand, my Grandad owned a Double Six in the 70’s.

You deserve an award for reviving a thread for such a dead car :D.
Of course ;), I published it for reasons similar to those of @sarpens's feelings, one of these or the previous generation, they were always my dream English car, at a young age a friend of my father was the only official Jaguar and Mini importer in the 80', and he went to look for us in a red one with cream / white interior, very difficult to forget, I think it encompassed everything that is an English car, and everything that it transmits, as explained in that relaxing video, as relaxing as the car.-
