XF Jaguar XF Thread (pics & info)

The Jaguar XF (X250) is an executive luxury sports saloon car that was manufactured and marketed by the British automobile manufacturer Jaguar Cars. Launched in Autumn 2007 as a replacement for the S-Type, the XF was designated internally as the X250. The X250 was succeeded by the X260 in 2015.

I think so too. C'mon Jag, just don't screw up this... The XK was great IMO. The headlights were... ok, but the car succeeded as a whole. Hope it's the same case for the XF.

So is there any confirmation that this is an entirely new car or a replacement for the S-Type? I heard that this car along with the XK is Jaguar's new push into the upper-end luxury market - with V8s and all that.

I won't be surprised to hear Mr Clarkson singing praises to it.

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

Gosh!! Why can't Jaguar just leave the 90s quad head lights behind. It ruined the car:t-banghea

Re: Concept vs Production

You hit the nail on the head monster! I can't believe they dropped the most appealing aspect of the concept, those cat eyes. :t-hands: Who the hell's pulling the strings over there?

Production-wise I think it is very difficult to shape metal and glass this way, I don't know, it just looks too complicated to be done en masse. Also those lights you see on the concept don't appear to be normal Xenons, they also have LEDs in them. Probably safety regulations also prevented Jag from transplanting the gorgeous headlights over...

I'll have to take your word for it Mirage77, I have not a clue about the potential complexities involving car design!:eusa_thin

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

All good hopes are gone... FY Jaguar, FY!!! :thumbdown

:t-cheers:
Well don't be harsh Tycoon, the car is nice but we've kind of seen the best case scenario with the C-XF concept. Thats why we are dissapointed. However the car still looks nice.

Goodluck Jaguar.

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

I have to be! I know concepts to production cars change, but not like this, this is ruining and killing all of their efforts, therefore - FY Jaguar!

:t-cheers:

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

honestly looks great to me... the concept would be impoosibly expensive to mass produce... deal with it and you will see a lovely car

Absolutely agree with both of you.

It doesn't look too bad. Honestly.

I know concept designs can sometimes be difficult to make it into production, but at least the could retain the general shape of the concept headlights right?
The rest of the car isn't bad, and I like the design of the rear end, but the front lights are a massive let down. The size of those things are massive, and the curves doesn't integrate well with the rest of the car.

Check out those lights on the RD-6 concept car, i reckon these ones can easily be made into production, and it will suit the XF much better than the current ones.

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

Sorry guys, but I really have to say, that I begin to like the design of this Jaguar!! :D

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

Hmm in some of the pictures it doesn't look that bad but in others it looks like a S80 with have embraced Scottland.

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

I kind of like it. Sure, the headlights are a bit goofy, but it's the first Jaguar in a long while which I feel has an idenity. I think it's quite bold and above all else, interesting.

Exterior has shades of Volvo, Lexus, BMW, Ford (particularly the Mondeo) and Aston Martin.

i've said it, but i have to say it again, the interior is a copy the a8.

True, there is most definitely an influence from the A8. A bit unoriginal, but as far as I'm concerned, the best Jaguar interior in nearly two decades.

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

I could like it, but it's going to take time.
