XF Jaguar XF Thread (pics & info)

The Jaguar XF (X250) is an executive luxury sports saloon car that was manufactured and marketed by the British automobile manufacturer Jaguar Cars. Launched in Autumn 2007 as a replacement for the S-Type, the XF was designated internally as the X250. The X250 was succeeded by the X260 in 2015.
Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

^i belive this is the competition the XF will have to face..

PS
good to see that its 1-0 for the CLS against its first true competition.. :D..

At least Merc has the got the proportions right!! :)

The Jag looks like it's trying to fit too many details in such a limited bodywork. It doesn't look long and sleek like the concept or the CLS.

Maybe this is the reason why Ford is now offloading Jaguar. Execs saw this car, and said "oh no, let's sell this company before this *%% reaches the market"

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

^lol thats so harsh..

PS
Im seeing that jag are trying to pull these pics off the net..
they are starting to dissappear from several sites..
so before it happens here.. maybe someone with some intrest in this car would like to save em..

personally i cant be botherd..as im probably better off not watching those pics..:D

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

At first blush, the headlight design looks really strange. It's as though the headlights are doing this: ;)

Maybe this won't look so strange in person, but I'm starting to think this this may be another case of a potentially classic (think XK) Jag design being spoiled by clumsy headlight styling. Either that, or I just don't get it yet, so call me undecided.

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

The XF would look much better with upside down headlights.

It reminds me on XK where everything looks really nice, except the headlights and that dumb front look... A serious problem that hurts the rest part of the design, imo...

:t-cheers:

Yeah, they probably have 20 guys sitting in front of a computer trying to get the picture removed from every blog or new site on the net. Unfortunately it is pointless because the picture is spreading like Paris Hilton's first sex tape during the month of launch:D

I bet that Ford doesn't like comments been made about the car either. But that's what you get for messing up once more. The car looks like a Volvo S80 dressed in a British tailored suit. They even have the same side mirrors and dorr handles.

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

One of the saddest things that occured to me at this leaked launch is that it looks nothing like a Jaguar... then again, these days Jaguar doesn't seem to have any distinctive styling anyways.

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

Uhhh from the side profile picture it doesn't appear that the headlight is like that little picture at all. It looks like two distinct circles that are connected. Am I blind???

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

screw u guys, fine the car isnt as great as the concpet but the concept was nearly as cool as the AM rapide. It still maintained most of the bosywork fropm the conept just some tweaks and it still ooks dam sexy. As far as i know this is the nicest jag ever made alogn wit hthe XK and within its class( 5series, e class, audi a6) this car is gonna rape em!!!

Aint nobody gonna rape anyone. If you think this is the nicest jag ever made than I respect your opinion but seriously this car is coming into the market right when some of it's major competitors are getting a facelift or a total redesign (E-class). If there is one company that knows how to follow tradition and but still make fresh designs, it's the MB. Believe it or not, the new E is going to be better than this jag. Why? Because the main thing this car had going for it was the sleek roof line, but that is gone now replaced with the mondeo line. It's not bad, but it's not going to light a fire anywhere.

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

Is that a real picture? If so Ford f*cked it up with the head lights.

I think so too. C'mon Jag, just don't screw up this... The XK was great IMO. The headlights were... ok, but the car succeeded as a whole. Hope it's the same case for the XF.

So is there any confirmation that this is an entirely new car or a replacement for the S-Type? I heard that this car along with the XK is Jaguar's new push into the upper-end luxury market - with V8s and all that.

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

This is the replacement for the S-Type. I'll withhold comments on the styling until I see more pics. I do think Jaguar is smart to have made it all V8s, especially for the U.S. market. With most 6-cylinders putting out 300hp, their base V8 with 300hp make sense. I personally would have gone for a tweaked version of Volvo's new I6 with about 290hp for the entry-level model, but 300hp is what it is. They'll put the 420hp supercharged model which won't be the "R" model this time around, against the E550/550i/A6 4.2/GS460/STS V8 etc. A good match for them since it will on paper outpower all of them. Then say in 2009 we'll get the XF-R, a 500hp model. By then though Audi will have like 575hp and BMW and MB won't be far away from doing their 600hp thing with the next M5/E63.

Re: Concept vs Production

i've said it, but i have to say it again, the interior is a copy the a8.

Re: Concept vs Production

What the hell have they done to the headlights? It just looks so wrong on the side profile view. The concept car is sexy, the production version is not. It is like when you are drunk, that girl appear to look dam hot, but when you are sober the next day you found out you have made a horrible mistake when you see her next to you in bed. Maybe the Jaguar designer had the same experience when they were designing the car. The interior is very Audi A8 like, I don't mind it but it isn't very original, even with the air vent covers. The gear selector is a nice touch though. I really hope all the silver trims in the interior is made from some kind of metal instead of painted plastic.

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

This car's interior is very, very modern. Follows some of the XK's design cues... Not a bad thing. I wish they used less plastic but we can't really complain since Jag is so cash strapped now. Let's hope this model will help Jag lift out of bankruptcy.

You hit the nail on the head monster! I can't believe they dropped the most appealing aspect of the concept, those cat eyes. :t-hands: Who the hell's pulling the strings over there?
