XF Jaguar XF Thread (pics & info)

The Jaguar XF (X250) is an executive luxury sports saloon car that was manufactured and marketed by the British automobile manufacturer Jaguar Cars. Launched in Autumn 2007 as a replacement for the S-Type, the XF was designated internally as the X250. The X250 was succeeded by the X260 in 2015.
Re: SPY PHOTOS: Jaguar XF Latest

I really like the interior... I like the use of silver buttons and plastic versus the crappy cheap looking black stuff other (ney my favourite brand) use... The screen deos look like slightly awkward and perhaps a more BMWish wide screen would better.. In fact skrinking the big cross peice of plastic were the screen is lcoated would do wonders.. By making it skinnier and not so tall the interior would look more cohesive... Real Al and metals would be appreciated aswell

Wow. It looks hot. I'm very optimistic.

Jaguar XF in line for 500bhp

Work is continuing behind the scenes in the build up to the launch of the XF saloon, while speculation rumbles on around finding a new owner for Jaguar.
The ultra-modern S-type replacement is scheduled to appear at the Frankfurt motor show in September, where final specification will be announced.
However, Autocar has learned that the most interesting version of the XF is still a couple of years off. According to various sources, Jaguar is working on a hot version of the new saloon with more power and more performance potential than any other road-going Jaguar.

‘XFR’ to get even bigger, supercharged, 500bhp V8

Until now, Autocar understood that the range-topping XF would use the XKR’s 420bhp supercharged 4.2-litre V8 engine, but Jaguar sources say that won’t be the case.
The new Jaguar saloon will launch this winter with a choice of 2.7-litre V6 diesel, 3.0-litre V6 petrol, 4.2-litre V8 petrol and supercharged 4.2-litre V8 power, says our source. The 420bhp supercharged option, however, will simply be badged ‘S V8’; the eventual XFR will get an all-new, larger mill with 500bhp.
The new engine is currently in development, and won’t just see service in the XFR, but also the next Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. It’s a 5.0-litre V8 unit, with a supercharger, producing 500bhp and close to 500lb ft of torque.
With that under the bonnet, the XF should be capable of cracking 60mph in less than 5.0sec, 100mph in around 10sec, and slamming up against its 155mph speed limiter with legs to spare.

Plus: ‘XKD’ is a strong possibility for 2009

In other Jaguar news, the prospect of a diesel-powered XK is looking more and more likely, timed to arrive when the car receives its first facelift another two years from now.
The ‘XKD’ had been on the drawing board at Jaguar from the car’s conception, but back then, two problems prevented its translation onto the road: that the PSA-Ford developed 2.7-litre V6 didn’t have sufficient power to suit the XK, and that the market wasn’t ready for an upmarket, diesel-powered coupe or cabrio.
The first of those problems will be remedied within 18 months, when Jaguar’s plan to enlarge the capacity of its V6 twin-turbodiesel engine from 2.7 to 3.0 litres, and from 206 to around 250bhp, comes to fruition.
The other problem promises to go up in smoke with the success of BMW’s new 635d. That new twin-turbodiesel coupe and cabrio goes on sale in September; assuming the market welcomes that car as generously as expected, Gaydon should have no qualms about providing car buyers with a British-built alternative.

Re: Jaguar XF Thread (Spy pics & info)

With the C63 rocking 457hp and the coming RS6 580hp, the Jag will look really bad if it doesn't come thorough with atleast 500hp. Most importantly it better look damn good.

In this picture the car looks so hot, if they keep these looks for the production model, I think Jaguar could start making a profit!

While only visible from behind and a rear 3/4 view, we feel confident in saying the production XF will be remarkably close to the C-XF Concept on which it's based.

There are differences, of course. The fender vent behind the front wheels is taller and thinner, shaped more like the one on the XK than the concept. The chunky five-spoke wheels are different from the seven-spoke chrome jobs on the concept, and the rear taillights and exhaust tips have been toned down. But still, the car retains its ineffable gorgeousness, as well as the concept's leaping cat badge positioned right between the taillights.

There are certainly high hopes for the XF, and one could argue that the fate of Jaguar itself, regardless of whether or when it's sold, rests on its sculpted shoulders of sheet metal. Our main concern is that despite its sexiness, the XF will be using much of the mechanicals found underneath the current S-Type's skin. That car has never been known for its driving dynamics or choice of powertrains, so can Jaguar tweak it enough to make the XF feel new?

Re: Spy Shots:2008 Jaguar XF-No Camo!

Wow I think I'm in love. I've have always been a hardcore fan of British luxury car and Jaguar is about to do a come back. I love what I have seen so far, lots of chrome, sexy shape and LEDs. Looks like a perfect interpretation of the modern British car. Now I just hope that the front lives up to what we've seen so far. I'll take one is British Racing Green thank you. It seem like this will be stealing the title away from the CLS as "the sexiest four door car on the market"
