It's Official Guys....
I will not be getting the X6 after all. Who knew that a car could feel like a real break-up?
I got the call from my dealer back on May 2 (that long ago, I would have received my X6 50i sometime this week or by July 7th) to start my production, but with the serious back and forth between myself and Hubby, I should have known that this was not going to go.
His views are set on the fact that gas prices are rising and manufacturers will be dropping new lows on their prices in the forseeable future, making it smart to wait on any purchase of a SUV (my argument: this is not a SUV). And he feels that getting a brand new car that hasn't worked out its kinks is, "silly". (My argument: somebody has to be first someday, you will only remember the pioneers).
This has been a great roller coaster thrill ride, and it's now time for me to get off and feel "earth" again, I suppose.
I'd like to give you guys a tip, for those of you that are in relationships, married, etc.
There is nothing worse than a woman set passionately on something that you initially agreed to, only to change your mind when it comes to crunch time, no matter the reason. It will land you in the doghouse until the fire sizzles out (and each burns differently!). Sure, he makes sense, and I do see that, but in the meantime, I have to deal with a crushed heart and mend it. And when I finally see a 50i on the street in the near future, I will always cringe. I hate the pity party, and he has since retracted his sentiments and wants to wait for the 2009 model instead, but I feel obliged, and refuse that.
Count me in on that roster where the dream car is the BMW CS. I will live vicariously through all you guys with the X6 instead.
Love. Peace. And Sheer Driving Pleasure.
