Is the new Stig a former Rally Ace?

After watching Topgear last night and how he handled the Proton rallycar and I am almost convinced that the latest Stig is a former Rally champion.

Any thoughts?

The Top Gear UK vs. Australia segment was filmed with the old stig. The segment was featured on Top Gear Australia last year before the Ben Collins incident.

That's interesting and does make me wonder whether the rumor of more than one Stig is indeed true.

Well, I hope its Mathew Wilson who got the job. His lack of talent is so obvious; watching old man Juha kick his a$$ so resolutely in Finland reminded me of the saying, 'all the gear but no idea.' His works drive could go to some deserving kid who could be the next big thing in the WRC.
