Is now the best time to buy a Mercedes?

We’ve all heard stories on how car manufacturers and dealers are having issues selling their cars. This video will put it in perspective on the severity of this problem. Thousands and thousands of cars are being stored at ports, just waiting there until a dealer decides to replenish their inventory. With the current economic conditions, where thousands of people are losing their jobs and even homes, it’s difficult, especially for luxury car manufacturers, to attract customers.
Is now the best time to buy a Mercedes? Well if you are financially stable, have a job, and think you won’t be laid off in the coming year, then yes. You’ll be able to get some great deals, especially if you know how to haggle, as deals are desperate to get rid of their inventory. If you are out of work or will be, then this is definitely not the right time. Just like MB salesman in the video says - go buy some food for your family.

This video makes me very sad, espacially when I see that S-Class behind the man. Its like seeing a cute puppy who can't find a home.:(

If you leased a E or R class several years ago and it is now time for the lease to end, you are golden. I was told I could buy my E for $38K when the lease was up. I was just told $31K and once they call again I will tell them $22K ish, since I have seen others getting offers around that. MB is making deals on E and R class, but not much else right now. C is too new, and trucks are still selling well.

Mercedes is really not doing much to move new cars. The "special" finance rates aren't even as low as what a person can get from their local credit union.

Pre-owned is the way to go.

You can get a 2006 E with average miles, and factory certification for the mid twenties. All the lux cars are dropping like I've never seen. One of our employees just bought a 2007 E350 with 28k miles for $26k. That was flat wholesale cost, but it gives you an idea of the market.
