3 Series (E90) Is it just me or the 3-Series E90 is already looking dull and tired?

*WARNING*

THIS IS JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION.

I'm aware that BMW had to be cautious about their Bread and Butter car.

But Jesus Christ...why they had to make a car, that looks monumentally bland and dated?

Jeremy Clarkson was half right. While the new 3-Series may not be uglier than any Ssangyong. In fact, no car can't get possibly uglier than the Ssangyong Rodius. Clarkson was right, when he said the new E90 looks like the work of a bored and depressed designer.

I don't care what you Bimmerfans will say. The new 3-Series car looks yawnsomely B-O-R-I-N-G. And despite of its early age, the car already looks OLD.

Even a Ford Mondeo, Vauxhall Vectra or a Volkswagen Passat, are more stylish and even contemporary compared to this BMW.

P.S: The Saloon and the Estate version may look old. That said, however, I think the new E92 Coupé version looks very nice.

I love it , look fresh and modern. Jeremy might be right in your world but not mine, its all personal without no rights or wrong, just opinions.

Only A4 and E90 looks modern, C-class still got class but look bland, boring and outdated. I new C-class is mostly welcome.

As I said earlier...

This is just my personal opinion. I have nothing against the E90. In fact, I even like the car, despite of its hateful looks.

I would even buy the new 3-Series...I'm not a guy to only judge the book by its cover. Have driven a 2005 320d I can tell ypu, the new 3-ser is a very good car indeed.

Is just...doesn't look right IMO.

The E90 is a very nice car IMO. In fact i like the ones without iDrive more as the design af the dashboard reminds me of Audi. I 'm considering one for my next car but prices are very high (for my wallet). To get a decently equipped 320i someone has to spend more than 37k euro here in Greece.

Nah, I recon the new 3er still looks pretty fresh. Some colors do it no favors, but when hooked up "correctly," the E90 looks great.

Now that the E90 coupe photos got out the gate I'm left scratching my head about what car I really want. If the '07 330i Sedan gets the same power boost that's been claimed for the Coupe I might be sold. However, I'm also starting to drool at the prospect of a hardtop convertible.

Bottom line - the coupes might be in very high demand next year, and will be fetching sticker with no exceptions. The sedan, on the other hand, might have slightly tapered demand, and might be "barginable."

I love your warning Andaluz.

I do have some sympathy with what you are saying, I've never been crazy about this design ...it doesn't look "dated" to me, but it is not as fresh and interesting to look at as the 5 series either. I really like the new 3er coupe though.

For some reason, the E90 just doesn't look good at all in these pictures. In flesh, I still think the car is very desirable.

I agree with warot, these pictures you have shown aren't the greatest!

I really like the car, in the right colours, and with the M pack looks even better, have nothing to say against it!

its still allright..but i get what you mean..it will date pretty badly imho

just what happen to C-class. I dont even get it why it havent been replaced yet, the car is so dull.

well its not overdue..its following the time line.. and i agree its dated now..no doubt..but then again a new is on its way..and the 3er is the newest of all 3 big ones:D

I think the rear of the 3 dated the quickest and the front is starting to look boring in lighter colors. I never liked the design that much to begin with, much preferred the previous 3 series.

The C is starting to show it's age also, but it has been on the market a lot longer. The C from the rear I think actually shows it's age the most. The sport package front with clear lenses that you see the most of here in the US still looks good I think.

The E90 is definately less radical than its bigger brothers. Perhaps you were expecting something more extreme, I know I was. And that is despite all the pre-launch media coverage and press statements...

The 3er is like the Ford Focus in the premium segment. Its not made to stand out stand out too much. Personally I think it is very nicely designed and the ones I see on the road look very neat. The car doesn't blow me away but neither does it's design bore me.

If you like now, there is a good chance you will like it later. If you don't like it now, there's a good chance you won't like it later. :usa7uh:

Unfortunately i feel the same with you and really not feeling it from the very start..the headlights and grille ruin the car like hell..

and still 3er is the best selling car in the segment. Looking dull, yeah right!
Either people complain that BMW are too radical or too conservative. Whatever BMW does, some people always find something to complain on. I feel that some people have hard time to accept that Bangle are doing so well and that BMW are the number one luxury carmaker at the moment.

We've all got our opinions Zaf. I think it looks boring, some people might think it looks awesome. I'm free to express my opinions.

Of course that's going to happen - people have different opinions. Surely you would know that. And it doesn't always apply with BMW. It's with every other car maker in the world.

I know that and you also know I know it. I said is several times, deisgn is about personal preferences.
Im just glad that everyone dont think like you ;) In the pic Andaluz posted the car looked dull, it was a really bad picture but there are beter photos and in real-life it looks even better.
But still I find it funny that people still find something to complain on, too radical or to conservative :D
