Is a TT-RS really that quick or worth the cost?

I have a GPS meter, the same as EVO use to test the cars for the mag here are my STANDARD 3rd gear rolling times.

40-60 - 2.2 seconds
50-70 - 2.39 seconds
60-80 - 2.58 seconds

Stage 1 Revo

Tuned 3rd gear times all run the same as before
40-60 - 1.82 seconds
50-70 - 1.84 seconds
60-80 - 1.99 seconds

as a note here are EVO R8 v10 roll on 3rd gear times
40-60 - 2.3 seconds
50-70 - 2.3 seconds
60-80 - 2.3seconds

and here are the mighty GTR 3rd gear times

40-60 - 2.1 seconds
50-70 - 2.1 seconds
60-80 - 2.1 seconds


so all in all is a RS remap worth the money? well if you want 120k performace for 45k then yes

here are my 4th gear times standard.
60-80 - 3.22
70-90 - 3.43
80-100 - 3.64

tuned
60-80 - 2.56
70-90 - 2.71
80-100 - 2.92

the tuned car is just so much faster.

Seems a remapped S3 is slightly quicker than the TT-RS stock when it comes to in gear performance. Probably explained by the lower gearing.

My seat used to beat the ttrs from 30 to 120 easy when stock.

Once remapped it was the other way around.

If I'm not mistaken, you have a manual?

Would the 7-speed dsg be faster in 3rd? ( is it lower geared than the manual? ).

It will be interesting to see how the 1M stacks up to the RS3 and the TT-RS, but the 6-speed manual does seem to be a disadvantage compared to the 7 speed DSG, for outright speed at least.

The 7 speed dsg would make it quite alot faster, and yeah I have a manual.

My friends stage 2 s3 dsg is quicker than my other friends stock TTRS roadster. I havent played against that particular s3 yet but will do so sometime in march when we drive down to forge motorsport for some parts, photoshoot and some development work.

My car sufferes terribly from high intake temps, the stock intercooler is really little and even at stage1 it really cannot keep up. Ive seen intake temps rise 42 degrees over outside temperature so intercooler is a must on this engine.

Im going to a 30-130 day in march aswell just before I get the intercooler on sadly so will see how it does against the exotica!
