Very excited! My wife has organized the trip for my 30th Birthday (damn we're getting old fellas), realizing my dream of visiting the Mercedes Museum and factory! Can't wait!!! Thought of hiring an SLS to drive on the autobahn from Frankfurt to Stuttgart, but sadly I couldn't justify the 2800Euros lol.

So since a lot of you guys are from Europe, any recommendations of sights, sounds and food to sample while I'm over there?

We'll be going:
Frankfurt
Stuttgart
Berlin
Florence
Rome
Paris
Malaga
Barcelona

When will you make the travel? And how much time you planned to spend at the several places?

I leave this Friday, the 3rd.

Frankfurt - 2 nights
Stuttgart - 2 nights
Berlin - 2 nights
Florence - 3 nights
Rome - 4 nights
Paris - 3 nights
Malaga - 3 nights
Barcelona - 3 nights

No time for Munich unfortunately. :( So Mercedes beat out BMW and we're going to Stuttgart instead. ;)

Sounds like an awesome trip,do not miss Affalterbach.:DI've been to Germany twice, missed Stuttgart twice:banghead:,but I'll make it one day that's for sure.(y)

Congrats for having a great wife ;):):)
I've been around most of Europe and my favorite place is Zurich, Switzerland so if by any chance you have time I would recommend you to visit Switzerland you won't regret it! But all the other places on your trip are awesome aswell! ENJOY :)
Keep us updated! Have a safe trip..

Yeah, the Porsche Museum is worth a visit, too. If possible, I'd suggest visiting it before you go to the Mercedes museum. The latter is extensive and it can be somewhat exhausting if you want to see everything.

While in Stuttgart, you should visit the Motorworld: www.motorworld.de/stuttgart

There are all kind of dealers and shops, from official Ferrari, Lambo, McLaren etc to some real cool classic car showrooms (last week they had to F40, one P1, Murcielago SV...).
Petrolheads drop by there every day and there are always good sightings / sounds guaranteed!

Oh, and from Malaga I would recommend a visit to Puerto Banus in Marbella - THE place to be for supercar owners. Been there last year and saw a Zonda, Carrera GT and many more...

The destination list is very interesting. But I know Frankfurt and Munich. And for me Munich is the more interesting city. So I would exchange Frankfurt with Munich. And no, not only because of the BMW World. :)

Sounds like a fantastic trip Mr Mercedes! All the best and hope you have a great time here in Europe!

Frankfurt is boring, better to replace that with Munich. Nicer city, on the foot of the Alps. Amsterdam might be something to consider too?

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions guys. Frankfurt is the port of arrival, so staying there was a given. I've reviewed the intinerary and luckily we are only there overnight. I will then be hiring a Mercedes to drive down the Autobahn to Stuttgart. :) E'class or 'Similar'. Let's see how this turns out.
