I was out trying my new Camera

I'm just interested NevadaJack, what camera gear did you use in the navy? - you would have had access to some pretty extraordinary equipment I bet.
Yes the Navy always had the latest and greatest. However, I retired from the Navy in 1971 so the equipment I used was state of the art for that time but not related to the digital stuff available today. We used 4x5 Speed Graphics and Roliflex for stills. For movies we used Kodak models and everything was 16mm or 35mm. I just cannot remember many of the makes. Toward the end of my Navy career we were using Arriflex 16mm and some 35mm still cameras. On the sound stages at the Naval Photo Center in Washington we used Mitchell studio 35mm and 16mm models and were into using TV converted to 16mm file before the video tape machine was invented. Today they have all the latest digitial stuff as well as the finest film cameras.

Things have changed a great deal...:-)
