The Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar (combined fuel consumption: 9.9 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 224 g/km; combined power consumption: 49.8 kWh/100 km) with plug-in hybrid technology sets standards – whether on the racetrack or on the road. With its turbocharged petrol engine and four electric motors, the premier sports car has an impressive system output of 1,063 hp. Added to this is a distinctive body design and the aerodynamics that go with it. In collaboration with Mercedes-AMG, CaDA has now created a faithful replica on a scale of 1:8 based on this unique super sports car and made of 3,295 interlocking building blocks, combining the ultimate in design artistry with precision and attention to detail.
Made by enthusiasts. Made for enthusiasts.
The model made for Mercedes-Benz by CaDA on a scale of 1:8 is a faithful reproduction of the Mercedes-AMG ONE and consists of 3,295 individual parts. Although it is assembled from interlocking building blocks, designer BrunoJJ1 has managed to perfectly recreate the distinctive lines and hallmarks of this extraordinary super sports car, such as the iconic longitudinal fin, the retractable rear wing and the 10-spoke wheels with tyres featuring the original Michelin pattern.
Not only on the outside does the model with a length of 57 centimetres, a width of 24.5 centimetres and a height of 16 centimetres impress with its high level of detail; it is also fully motorised and has independent front and rear suspension, shock absorbers and working LED lighting. The engine is modelled on the 6-cylinder powerhouse of the original, while the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) is simulated with pullback motors. Thanks to its two L-motors, each tuned to separate buttons on the remote control, the model comes very close to the innovative drivetrain of the large role model. This is made possible by a two-speed transmission, which only a few models made of interlocking building blocks have. The car can be moved forwards/backwards and to the right/left via the remote control supplied , while the two doors also open at the touch of a button, and both the speed and the lighting are controllable.
For world-renowned designer BrunoJJ1, whose love of interlocking-building-block models began at the age of ten, working on the super sports car was both a challenge and an honour. For him, the design of a model begins in the interior, i.e. with the chassis, the engine and the wheel suspension. The second step is the exterior design of the vehicle. The positioning of the headlamps is particularly important, as they form the face of the vehicle, so to speak. Thanks in part to the 3D printed prototypes of various special parts supplied in advance by CaDA, designer BrunoJJ ensures that each model is as close as possible to the original vehicle.
