I don't like it. The front is too low and the back is too high...It makes the car look bad, it's boxy...blah, it'll be different! I like the Hussein's impression!

Not only do I dislike this vehicle already, but I also dislike the name. Seems like one of those naming systems that runs into a wall when you go far enough down the road of logic...

MLK seems wierd, just like Caddy's BLS seems wierd. Probably because they're one letter away from a silly word or phrase.

I agree! thay almost sound like aftermarket food or drug products.:eusa_doh:

lol i might have bad taste.. but i really like this..love the boxy look like the G class.. and to me it looks like the hottest small suv ive ever seen:D

Stupid name thats for sure. Not too sure about the styling, but It will probably look good. Who know's these days. You can't be too sure untill you've seen it in the metal several times in different colours.

When is this supposed to be released?

Yeah I think there will be a lot of changes to this new Benz before it comes to market. The name and styling need to change for various reasons. This guy is usually right, but this time I think (or at least hope) he's wrong.

I`ve read a rumer or two that MB wants a little G-Class in the MLK. Time will tell if thats ture.

I have to admit that the car looks pretty good...I especially like the line down the side which shows a resemblence to the S class. The front is also very appealing. This (so far) looks a bit better than the X3.

I like where Benz took its new M-Klasse, and it appears they're onto something good here, despite the fact that I loathe this thing.

The X3 really falls flat with its front-end styling; something I hope they can remedy when a FL comes along.

I'm with Osna. The X3 definitely needs major facelift, 'cause painted bummpers didn't do anything special to that cra - it's still FUGLY! :t-banghea

:t-cheers:

Yes, I'd even go so far as to say that the car looked better with unpainted bumpers. Used to be a big X3 fan, now though, it's starting to fade. Why? The price. The price is just plain wrong. A specced up X3 3.0d is close to R500 000 down here and I could get a demo model M3 for that money. The Z4 and X3 remain the two most overpriced models in BMWs local line up in SA. Which is a pity.

I hope Huckfeldt is off the mark on this one though. There's something a little incongruous about the styling of this "MLK" - especially considering the segment its meant to compete in - which is an odd mix of boxy proportions and modern Merc styling details. I wager that in its current form, the MLK won't find favour with the wealthy housewife brigade - a key sales demographic for this new model.

By the way, I've heard that Mercedes have contracted Michael Jordan for the new car's ad campaign... the slogan will read:
"Got MLK?"
