Alright, you know how it goes. Sometimes I'm bored so I come up with a thread.

Today it is about la majestueuse Série Cinq, or just the 5er, if you will. This poll concerns the mighty E39 and older generations only.
The question is: How would you build your perfect BMW if you had a blank check? That means, what would be the car you would use as a canvas? A diesel E34? An E39 540i? Maybe a 535i E28? Maybe even an Alpina? An M5? Sedan? Touring? Don't be afraid to say Steptronic either, no one's gonna take your man card here (or will they? :eusa_thin).

What would you change? Assuming the color you want is not available OEM or wasn't available in the year/generation you picked, what color would you paint it? Would you change the engine or leave it stock? Go forced induction? BMW Individual paint? Maybe all you would change is the wheels and add a couple of bumper stickers? It's all up to you! Go crazy.

I know you are not much into modified cars (klier, I'm looking at you :D) but give it a try. In fact, completely stock is a possible answer here, just list how would you order your pre E39 5er if you had the chance to buy one new today. I will post mine and some examples too, so you get the idea. Ideally you would just build one car, but list two if you absolutely must.

Post a picture of whatever looks like "yours"

For me, something like this but caramel interior. I would keep/make the turn signals amber front and rear

-I would use an M Sport (F1 package, as they called it in Mexico) 530i as my base car.
-I would change the engine and steptronic box for a ZHP engine and 6 speed tranny.
-I would get it supercharged.
-Dual exhaust (not quad) on one side only like it came from factory to keep it stealth and keep a spare in the trunk.
-Built sound system aiming for the best sound quality
-Style 42 wheels
-Wood or technical graphite trim
-Reworked suspension with poly bushings
-LSD
-Sport exhaust
-Sport Steering and seats
-Illuminated shift knob
-European trunk (wide license plate)
-Headlamps rebuilt with new projectors and black housings.
-Keep angel eyes with stock yellowish bulbs, like on picture one
-Upgrade brakes

I'd like it to sound like this :)

Basically, I would be aiming at building an I6 M5

Well I'm driving a nearly perfectly equipped 535d. The only 3 things I would of ordered differently would of been Head Up display, no roof rails and lighter wood. Why a 535d Touring? Well a 550i (nearly bought on), a M5 or a Alpina would be a lot faster and a lot more fun. But to be honest I'd like the perfect car that can do everything well as a daily driver. So a 535d is fast, economical, comfortable, somehow sporty (as a M Sport) for a big car, has tones of space and it looks good. So why would you have anything else.

I only have one problem. It's very hard to find the perfect F11 535d :(
