SOP 12/22?? Really? So the first deliveries for Europe will be during the coldest months of the year.

Her name is Katharina, and right now she is everyone’s darling at the Bavarian Motor Works. Her address is Daimlerstrasse 19 in Garching-Hochbrück, epicentre of the go-faster BMW M division. But Katharina also has second homes at the Nürburgring and in Miramas, where BMW keeps its biggest proving ground. Kathy – if you don’t mind – has been spotted several times on public roads recently, where her swirly camouflage attracted the attention of spy photographers.

Uhm ... M2 will be only produced in plant Potosi (Mexico) afaik. So if you take into account first produced cars will be HEA and then you have shipping ... first G87 customer cars will show up march in europe ...

Twenty to thirty years in, it never bothered me when BMW weren't winning the horsepower wars. Nor did it bother me if they didn't have the longest range, or the greatest efficiency. I guess the market moves on.

Trying to decipher the reason for that concept (so crazy at first glance), perhaps it fulfills a couple of functions or more.

1- An accurate look at how the M2 will be aesthetically
2- Celebrate the 50th anniversary with something out of any contest, in addition to the rest of what is planned.
3- To be a showcase of what will be the future electric M`s, showing power and performance with handling of many levels above all like today.
4- The previous three together

It doesn't occur to me that it could happen in small numbers as it is, but who knows, I'm just guessing

No me neither, BMW used to do more with less. But a production version of Cathalina would be more than welcome to me.

The prototypes spied in Arjeplog and the car shown to us last year where under existing F87 M2 body shells.

We know. But like I said before, we don't all have a garage filled with track toys.

I too wish it was lighter but dailies these days just aren't what you want them to be..

I know perfectly well, thanks for your advice, but I have raced Rallys, karting, Formula and light and heavy personal cars all my life, that has nothing to do with my answer.

The car is stunning. Might have a few quirks, but overall, good design and very sporty.
