Holidays are dangerous

That's right, I was also surprised, how strange that something so interesting is not mentioned in so many tests.

The car has assisted driving and can be upgraded to assisted driving plus when it’s allowed in Europe, all the sensors are in place the software just needs unlocking. It will drive itself but gets upset if you take your hands off the wheel.

Congrats on buying something that you like , and not what GCF thinks about it

Enjoy many kms with it !

To be fair I didn’t think much of them when they first came out, but they are now a familiar sight in Norwegian roads, it grew on me.

It’s a very comfortable vehicle, all it needs is nicer wheels, I’ll probably gets ones like this next summer.

Good choice, radical change!

I completed a 470km road trip this week, I was surprised at how good the consumption was, 18.9 kw/100km on the way to Trondheim and 15.8 on the way home, better than WLTP. It's not a flat run to Trondheim from where I live, it's up an down all the way with only a moderately flat section from Orkanger to Trondheim.

The gone but not forgotten A6 and our MINI have pretty decent headlights but the IX is on another level, laser with LED matrix is awesome. The way the lights configure and adapt to the vehicles around you, the terrain on the side of the road, and they also highlight road signs.

Aren't laser lights on BMW pretty much gone?

I drove an X6 with laser lights , and man...What a blast. Great lights

But the last gen X6 does not have it anymore , as far as I know.

I’ve never seen an I4 M50 without laser lights, the I7 at the dealer when I bought my IX had them, and they can be specified on the I5.

Adaptive laser lights are truly epic. I've had a loaner car with them and also driven in front of a car with them. The illumination is exceptionally bright and wide without blinding other drivers.

Unfortunately I rarely drive in the dark and can't justify the purchase of a car that has them.

Are you sure? I know that the new 7 does not have laser lights

I’ll have to go have another look, I was sure they had the blue surround.

If they have dumped them they’re nuts. I sell searchlights. The most powerful LED chips don’t come close to matching the throw of a 1kw xenon lamp, let alone 2 & 3kw xenon’s used for ice searchlights. To replace Xenon almost all the searchlight companies are looking at laser, the first laser searchlight was launched early this year.

They're not on the configurator and non of the cars listed for sale on BMW Norway's site have them or can be searched for with the option.

They no longer warrant the cost in this application versus current LED lights.

You didn’t look very hard.

I have to look at new alloys, the stock 20” wheels are hideous, they have to go. Options are buying the stock BMW 21”, like my winter wheels, odd I know.

Option 1 next season buy summer tires for the 21” winter alloys and winter tires for the 20’s. This is the cheapest option.

Option 2 new wheels, I will probably stick to 21” wheels, roads aren’t the best around my area, I would like to have more sidewall than less. But and there’s always a but I can get a set of 22” OZ Racing HyperXT HLT alloys for a really good price.

It’s pretty difficult finding photos of iXs with 3rd party wheels. These are the wheels I like. The bronze is a bit of bling on an all black car or I could go all black, all opinions are welcome.

What do you think would work?
I'd go the factory root, and source a set of original wheels. The ones you posted in post #23 look quite nice. As a matter of fact, I stumbled upon an iX with those wheels recently, and I was surprised to see that it actually looks ok, as far as you don't see the front of it.

I think Giannis is right and the wheels must be from the family, and those in particular that you put as an option and also he, suits it like a glove, that's what I meant with the spirit, they almost necessarily should be in the electrickishh wave, otherwise they collide with the rest IMO

But as I say you can also be original and stay with the family, some options may be those of the G60

Or more classic like these among those available for the iX

Quite frankly, I consider the ones you posted (after market) totally out of tune with the vehicle.
