hi guys! i'm erick from manila. awesome forum you have here!

i've been a fan of the german car since i was a kid. my enlightenment came back when i was in 1st year high school when some rich dude in our school brought in an Audi Quattro. I've been love with Audis and other euro cars ever since. I think about 70% of my money goes to my cars, my wife, and travelling. The rest are wasted on house payments, food, etc.

we formed a similar club in the philippines called the EuroCarClub.

i'm on koni coilovers and an upsolute chip. i'm pretty happy with her performance already since i dont plan on making her into a track car...

Unfortunately, i totalled her last sept 24, 2006 in nasugbu, batangas, philippines...

I replaced her with this... e30M3

as to my accident, yes, i got hurt. i got whiplashed and was in the hospital for 2 weeks and was unable to work for over a month due to the pain. but no broken bones. they just stitched my left ear back. :eusa_danc

my then then-girlfriend (who's my wife now) was with me in the accident. she broke her hand and foot, but that was it. the seatbelts and airbags saved us, plus of course the excellent German engineering of the car. :t-cheers:

funny thing is, i've been to the track more often after the accident.

it's good to be alive.

Man, that's good to hear that everything was ok in the end with you and your wife, because looking at the damage, one would thought you you couldn't get out alive from it...

Mega Fun Run / Track Day / BBQ - Philippines

Hi guys! It's been a long time. Just wanted to share with you our event last sunday (2/21/10). We called it “The Mega Fun Run / BBQ / Track Day,” by the Euro Car Club of the Philippines, Subaru Club, and the Bimmer Club Philippines. Over 200 cars, over 350 people! That may not seem a lot in Europe but it's unprecedented from where i'm from.

The program was simple:
1. “Fun” run to Subic International Raceway
2. Track your car to your heart’s content
3. Enjoy the “car show.” There were 200+ cars that showed up to the event... highly suped-up Subaru STi’s, Foresters, Audi R8’s, TT’s, A4’s, BMW M3’s, 335’s, 135, Cabrios, Evos, 370Z’s, GTR’s, Porsches, Mini Coopers, and even a Donkervoort!
4. Ogle at the models
5. Mingle with other fellow gearheads
6. Enjoy the buffet liempo and BBQ chicken by Marina Grille
7. Cool down with cold beer (but once you opened a can, you can no longer go back to the track).
The turnout was awesome! We never expected it to be this big when we were initially planning it.

Midway through the straightaway at 180kph and still accelerating! Just for comparison, my old S2000 would max out at the end of the straightaway at around 165-170kph.
