A great deal of hypocrisy from the entertainment industry - remember the ridiculous "Womens March" on the days following the election with all the disingenuous outrage and overreaction to some sleazy comments made by Trump a decade earlier. They never seemed to be so enraged by President Clinton's behaviour - including actual rape allegations against him ....they just ignore it.
 
The issues I had is that for all the protests against sexism and gender discrimination, when it comes to the Hollywood elites itself, everybody remains quiet. Why is that, where is Meryl Streep? She was extremely vocal against Trump, but when it comes to Weinstein, not a single word. She also once called Weinstein "god" Where is Ashley Judd, who herself was subjected to Weinstein's unwanted advances? Where is the mass protests against the toxic Hollywood culture? The main stream media here in Australia gave it half a day of news coverage and that is it.

COMEDY stalwart Saturday Night Live is under fire for failing to crack jokes at the expense of embattled Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, sparking speculation about an entertainment industry “code of silence”.

The furore began after this weekend’s episode of the iconic show failed to address the sexual harassment claims levelled against Weinstein reported last week by the New York Times including details of eight settlements over several decades.

Creator Lorne Michaels was filmed at 4am on Saturday leaving the show’s after-party. When asked why there was no mention of Weinstein in the searing comedy, he replied “it’s a New York thing”.

I agree with you on the part of Meryl being silent on this matter for a while, although she has spoken out against Harvey.
I won't call her a bitch though, besides I still have a crush on her.

Only about 20 years too late, they make these small comments on the side just to protect their image and put some distance between themselves and him. They all knew and ignore this until they can't anymore and even then they are doing the bare minimum to get by.

He is very powerful in Hollywood - did you see Russell Crowe and Matt Damon called a NY Times journalist directly (in 2004) to support Weinstein and have damning details cut from an article about him.

I know what you mean- it is getting rather silly now.
Harvey certainly have serious problems, but then again he is of the Hollywood elite so I don't expect much from him or his ilks.
