The ones on S5 looks good, but not the ones on R8, they look like a cheap strip of LEDs you can get from Ikea - let me see if I can find a pic. The same goes for the one on 911 Turbo.

BMW's angel headlights have most identity.

Audi's new LEDs are nice but I hope it's something they will do for every model and not just the sports cars. Its LEDs also does seem quite superficial - it's a strip of showlights, whereas BMW's a trademark. Well after time it will evolve into a trademark, hopefully.

MB's lights look pretty bland to me. Nothing special IMO. You see the same glass lights on many other cars.

I agree. I still can not believe how one can choose for example absolutely normal MB light, over the amazing jawdropiing LED-light from Audi. Look at an S5 or an R8 in the dark, or day...and you will see the reaction.

Just wait until you see an A5/S5 in the rear view mirror. It's like a shock. You think "what on earth is that". I've heard this from several of my friends. "I saw this sickest Audi with those sick lights"...hehe

I AM WITH YOU ON THIS ONE. HALF OF THE PEOPLE HERE HAVE NOT SEEN A CAR WITH LED'S. I LIVE IN HOLLAND AND HAVE SEEN ABOUT 3 AUDI A5'S AND ONE R8 AND LET ME TELL YOU THEY LOOK UNBELIEVABLY GOOD. I have seen the LED's on the R8 and was not impressed. The overall design of the R8's headlights is quite good and intense. But the LED's give off a Christmas-lights look. On the R8 and A3 it looks like they're mimicking eyelashes.

Angel eyes look like they're staring right into your soul.

Nah man... I mean, maybe if we were back in 2000 or something. They were cool THEN. Now, you can see them on Golfs, Honda Civics and all that.

They have lost that specialty. Even Saab 9-3 LEDs looks better than any Angel Eyes.
And speaking Audis LEDs, yes, the A4 might look cheap, but you can absolutely NOT compare them to the S5 and the R8 LEDs. My jaw drops to the ground everytime I see a A5/S5... And that's something that happenes not because I love the Audi mark itself, it just looks so freakin MODERN and amazing. And to say that the S5 LEDs looks like IKEA is just soooo wrong.

^^ haha just because a lot of cars copy them doesn't mean they don't look good on the REAL thing. So once Hondas start copying Audi's LED's they are going to look bad?

I think that the reason BMW's headlights are the best looking is because they keep with the theme of 4 headlamps, which has been a tradition. BMW were the ones that started this trademark headlamp design. I think Audi's look good too though.

So? It doesn't matter if other people copy them (though there may be something in the fact that they are copied). The fake side vents on the Z3 still look good even if Civics have them. If a Murcielago or Countach pulls up next to you and the door swings up, do you think: "I wish they'd use normal doors now; there are even MR2's that use this type of door"? I'd wager that Civic would look worse with Audi-type LED's. Not better. You can also get headlamps with LED elements for cars like the Neon, Charger, and Scion (among others).
So I think your comment about what was "cool back in 2000" is more relevant to a thread that asks what is more fashionable.
