5 Series Geneva Preview: BMW Concept 5 Series GT

The BMW 5 Series is an executive car manufactured by BMW since 1972.
If white rings is the future of angel eyes then why the brand new Z4 didn't get it?

I don't know what to think about the 5GT... It has some great design elements (front and rear lights) that will look awesome on the F10, but the overall appearence of the 5GT is troubling me. First of all I don't like the general concept of the car, but that's personal of course. It's like a mix of the new 5er and the X6 and I really wonder who will buy it... but I guess BMW marketing feels people will like it cause they wouldn't have built it if that wasn't the case.
Maybe if I see it in real life i'll appreciate it, but for now I can't say I like it, but I am looking froward to this front somewhat sleeker on the new 5er, that would be great!!!

^ The chick in the middle is hot!

The car looks good in real life shots as well. That color though... :eusa_thin:pukeface:

Ah, at last a good pic and it looks much better - and I can (barely) start to see why someone would choose it over a normal wagon. But on the other hand, why one would choose metallic pink to reveal a new car already behest with identity issues beats shit out of me. :eusa_doh:

Thats the most decent picture ive seen so far. So will this car have more luggage space than a 5er touring? Also, has estimated price been mentioned yet?

Could you make it black and keep the concept rims andy please ?

The new interior looks better. Overall dimension of PAS 5GT should have been named PAS 7GT instead. It's a bigger car than 5er sedan, the wheelbase and width of PAS is comparable to F01 750i.

Love the front, sexy curves on that hood!! It looks pretty good from that angle, it is straight on at the side when it looks odd.

Now I see both of them side by side I can say that the yellow LED coronas look old compared to the white ones, they look a thousand times better.

i only wish they were broken LEDs. The white rings are too familiar already with all the aftermarket stuff..

Andy - Thanks for the great ps work! Obviously some mad skills that are helping me and others evaluate this new design.

This article says the pricing of 5 GT will range from 37k to 65k Euros. Any truth to it?

Just a prediction.
That's roughly a price frame for 5er Sedan (520i to 550i) in German market.

:t-cheers:

IMO a RWD GT will be priced same as AWD Touring with same engine. Meaning €52k for 530d GT. Meaning the AWD GT will be in the range of X5 xDrive30d (€55k).

But November is still far away. The economic situation will worsen. Perhaps carmaker will have to react - offering more attractive prices to even sell anything.

Car markets around the world are dying. Private demand is shockingly slim.

Fiat CEO's prediction that only 6 carmakers will survive the crisis is becoming very close to reality.

Im sorry but aside from the very front end, this thing looks terrible.
