Went yesterday. Without a doubt the worst Geneva show I've been to. Utterly boring.
I didn't follow the online coverage that much this year, but I had the feeling that this year isn't as active as before.

Do you think it's because, at least for the Germans, are preparing themselves for the Frankfurt auto show later this year @Betty Swollocks ?

I've also gotten the impression that Geneva 2019 was one of the weaker shows at that particular venue. Mind you, I followed the show events online. Certainly, the Bugatti LVN and Pininfarina Battista left me impressed. And the VAG BEV triumvirat consisting of VW I.D. Buggy, Audi Q4 eTron concept and SEAT eBorn concept managed to capture my interest as well. But otherwise ?

Alas, in this digital age, the relevance of car shows appears to be steadily decreasing.

I agree. The non attendance of some robbed us of new models I was eager to see Volvo S60,Range Rover Evoque/Velar SVR, Genesis G70 amongst others.
Some of the more interesting cars were behind the scenes.
Audi E-Tron SportBack-Activity Coupe,Porsche 911Turbo,Mercedes-AMG A45 4 Matic,BMW M8. And Aston Martin DBX.

The S63 Cabrio made me vomit.

In general, this season's autoshows have been lackluster. To me, the Geneva Show at least offers a great deal of quirks to nerd over. Alot has to do with gradual obsolescence of auto shows....with the internet (the inundation of spy pics and press pics before the "surprise" reveal at the show), other events (Concorso D'eleganza, Pebble Beach, Goodwood, etc.) and automakers bowing out of one show or the other, the fanfare is diminished.

And, personally, I've (reluctantly) accepted that electrification is the way of the future and while the tech is impressive, there's just no wonderment with electric motors and batteries as there are with the mechanics of an ICE and other bobbins. It's more difficult to fetishize the sound of droning motor as there is too something that revs or burbles. To those who put much more emphasis in all out speed, they should not be too bothered by it though.

Also, I am getting older, my priorities and emphases in life have changed.

Yes when I see Mansory products in general. I do not need anybody's criticism...All I need is a bucket.
