It's far more dramatic and stunning looking than the 458 IMO, definitely something that will stand out from the crowd which is exactly what a supercar should do.

This car will for sure be stunning, when was the last time Lamborghini did NOT make a stunning car ( besides that freak called veneno)?

It will be stunning, but the question is how long it will be relevant in performance compared to the competition.

The 458 is on its final version, it does not take long for ferrari to go from that to a brand new car..

Then there is the 911s with cars like the upcoming GT2 and the crazy fast Turbo..

I hope lamborghini comes through with some spanking performance, and i really hope the damn interior has NO clues of VAG..

While the Aventador was and is a stunning car, its performance impact was very fast forgotten.. despite its 700hps .. and even in that car there is to much VAG in the interior ( lol )

I wouldn't worry that much about the performance. After all, the Aventador is still the fastest non-limited production straight line car you can buy (at least until the F12 finally manages a good run) as well as being one of the fastest on the track as well. However, it is true that if the Cabrera comes out with 600PS and ~1300kg as expected that it will have merely matched what the Mclaren and Ferrari are already offering today, possibly just having a better launch. But then again the Gallardo would always get power and other upgrades to match is rivals very quickly.

Other than that you are right about the VAG interior, which is by far the most off-putting thing about the Aventador. Let's hope that just happened because it was mostly conceived during the height of the financial crisis and the bosses got uncomfortable with spending money.

For those with long enough memories of Lambos in the past the fact that there is VAG parts is a godsend because it means everything f'ing works for once. lol

I did share everywhere... gave them a mail and what not... still didn't receive any info :D
What a scam :D

That is true. The Gallardo has never been as innovative as the its peers by Ferrari and Porsche. Performance isn't the only reason for buying one of these sports cars - looks are equally as important. Even though the F12 is one handsome GT packed with breathtaking performance, it only takes one glance at the Aventador to forget all about it.

Auto Week have put forward a rather confident shop, complete with parking sensors. They must have seen the real car.

Report – Lamborghini Cabrera’s first official details will arrive for Christmas!

A Lamborghini representative has divulged some details about the upcoming Gallardo successor to Inautonews.com.

Without revealing the name of the car (the media have named it the Cabrera), the source said Lamborghini will unveil it next year, and the first press release detailing the engine and design, will come out before this Christmas. This further strengthens our theory that the Cabrera could be unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, given that the Italian supercar maker has a long standing history with Geneva.

The rear-mid engined supercar will be based on an all-new platform which would have a good content of carbon fiber. Power will be sourced from the same 5.2-liter V10 engine (though an Italian car magazine claims it could be a 5.4-liter V10 based on the existing 5.2) and the power output is expected in the region of 600 hp. Lamborghini will offer the Cabrera in rear wheel drive and all wheel drive variants.

Last week, Lamborghini announced the end of production of the Gallardo. Lamborghini have already begun teasing the Cabrera, with a microsite (hexagonproject.com) playing out the engine start-up sound and exhaust note.

The next generation Audi R8 will use the same platform and engine as this baby Lamborghini. However, insiders claim that the Audi and Lamborghini, in spite of using the same chassis and engine, will deliver completely different cars.

^I hope they will indeed be different as there's little point of having a carbon copy at a significant difference in price.

Successor to Lamborghini Gallardo due to be unveiled later this month
The replacement for the Lamborghini Gallardo will be called Huracan, Auto Express has learned. The name, which means hurricane in Spanish, will adorn the new V10-powered supercar due to be unveiled later this month.

Lamborghini was tipped to call the Gallardo successor the Cabrera, but a source has confirmed to Auto Express that the car will instead be called Huracan.

Lamborghini trademarked then name on April 19, 2012. The word was Mayan for the god of fire, wind and storms, and was then adopted by the Spanish to mean hurricane.

The name was trademarked at the same time as Urus – the name for the firm’s SUV concept shown at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2012. The firm also registered Deimos, which hasn’t yet appeared on a car or concept, but could be used for the production version of the SUV, due in 2017.

The Huracan is tipped to be powered by an updated version of the current naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 mated to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox. The engine will develop around 600bhp.

It’ll be built on a new aluminium spaceframe platform that will also underpin the next Audi R8 in 2015, albeit with different dimensions. Originally, both the Audi and Lamborghini were to use an updated version of the current R8’s platform. However, an insider told us that having driven the latest 991-generation Porsche 911 Turbo, Audi and Lamborghini engineers decided that a more radical solution would be required to reach the Porsche’s high level of dynamics.

The Lamborghini’s design will be inspired by the Sesto Elemento, which debuted in 2010, while the starter button shown on the Huracan teaser website has a similar jet fighter-style flip-up starter button as the Aventador.

The Huracan will go into production in the new year, and be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March. It has big shoes to fill – more examples of the Gallardo have been sold than any other Lamborghini, with 14,022 finding homes in its 10-year production run, which has just come to an end.
