I am the owner of a 2023 BMW G60 520d xDrive and have been experiencing some disturbing driving problems for some time.

The issues manifest in different situations:

1- During initial move from a stationary position (only in D mode and car is working), the car sometimes lurches forward suddenly, as if brake had been suddenly released.

2- And during deceleration, an unexpected and unnecessary brake force is being applied, more than the force i am applying, significantly disrupting the driving experience. This is especially noticeable in city driving and considerably reduces ride comfort.

3- In addition, on "slightly" declined/inclined roads, the car rolls forward or backward depending on the direction of the slope. No solution has been found for this problem either.

I have visited an authorized service center twice so far, but unfortunately no concrete solutions has been found to any of them.

Actually, service representatives informed me that similar issues have been observed in other vehicles as well, and these are normal !?
I doubt it very much !

What do you think? Anybody experienced similar problems? Any of them solved? If so, how?

Thanks in advance for all you replies..

->
This happens without any gas input; I am simply releasing the brake pedal.

Adaptive Re-gen?

Is the electronic hand brake automatic activation on or off? This could turn on the handbrake automatically before the car comes to complete stop and switch it off while in D and the brake pedal released causing it to move forward suddenly.

I actually have no idea. But when i am waiting on a stop sign i never see the hand-break being activated (no lights on the button itself) so i would guess auto activation is disabled.. But let me double check that,,

Let me share with you some AI diagnosis:

SymptomActual SourceExplanation
Unexpected / harsh braking force during decelerationIBS (Integrated Braking System) brake pressure management + 48V recuperation (energy recovery) thresholdsThe hydraulic brake pressure generated by the IBS electric motor is directly summed with the recuperative deceleration from the 48V starter-generator. If the engagement thresholds of these two forces are miscalibrated, the total deceleration becomes disproportionate and excessive relative to the force applied to the pedal. Recuperation alone is not enough to create this effect; the real issue lies in the IBS's own brake pressure management.
Vehicle lurches forward on takeoff (even with Auto Hold off)IBS (Integrated Braking System) residual pressure + transmission creep force transition calibrationThe IBS module applies its own brief internal pressure hold independently of Auto Hold; when this pressure is released late, the accumulated creep force is suddenly unleashed.
Forward/backward rolling on inclinesHill Hold software thresholdOn mild inclines, the acceleration sensor signal falls within the noise floor, so the system cannot determine whether an incline is present or not and fails to activate the brake in time.
Increased braking distance, pedal feels extremely stiffIBS (Integrated Braking System) module hardware failure (official recall 24V-104)These symptoms differ from the issues described above — however, if the IBS module replacement has not yet been carried out, it is important to have it checked.

I don't have the last one but AI suggests I get it checked too..
I am wondering if anybody else is having or had any of these problems..
Or am i the only one :(
