Free audio/video capture software

I have a question for all the tech-heads here....

I am trying to find a free software that captures my screen's audio and video without any time limit. Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 limits videos to 10 minutes. Camstudio seems that when you download it, it is bloated with malware and adware. I am trying to find something that records in either MP4, WMV or AVi format and when running, it is not sucking up my laptop's resources. I am running Win7.

Any suggestions/recommendations, guys?

I am trying to record some upcoming streaming seminars so I can re-watch at my leisure. I tried with VLC media player, but wasn't having much luck.

To be honest I will just record the entire video stream with my phone in front of the computer, and make sure you have a big enough memory card inside. That is how the bootlegged movies are recorded.

Btw is the lecturer hot?

I am one of the rare individuals in this modern world who doesn't have a functioning camera on his phone, so that won't work.
