Floersch appears to be a very personable young woman... but so far a less than average racing driver. Which is a big shame.

You are absolutely correct with regard to Flörschs' "marketability" and a form of hype that she is currently enjoying. She is eloquent, tough and, in the eyes of many, very attractive. But yes, in terms of talent, she appears to fall quite short of drivers such as the late Pat Moss, Michelle Mouton or Danica Patrick. Another very good (rallye) driver was/is my Bavarian compatriot Isolde Holderied, who pretty much dominated the then "womens categories" in European rallyesport of the 1990s'.

So if Lewis was on pole and they did 2 laps behind the safety car and gave him half the points for a win .. what would the reactions be ?

I'm finding it relatively easy to consider Floersch, just another driver, rather than just another female driver. Looking at the GT3 spec DTM as it is now, there's a reasonably wide spectrum of talent there, and she's basically bottom of the 'full-time' points table, behind Esmee Hawkey (another female driver). Bottom line is she needs to be competitive, irrespective of sex. From what I've read she's pretty pragmatic on this point also, paraphrasing what she said around W-Series "if you're there, you need to be there based on talent".

Probably the same as it has been for Max getting a win and half points.

Somehow I doubt that

I'm sure FIA would gladly welcome other champion but not Luis

I'm sure all parties involved (fans aside) wanted to be able to call it a 'race' to fulfill contractual obligations and avoid being out of pocket. Who that left the winner as is irrelevant.

... who is out of their control, has his own opinion and he fights for causes that these people do not stand behind.

Oh yes, Qatar is going to be an absolute hoot. I'm looking forward to Vettel and Hamilton wearing their gay pride T-shirts on the Grid again...

Oh wait, Hamilton deleted that message didn't he...

Somehow I doubt that

Okay, maybe Horner and Marko would have gone ballistic, but the fans would still be the same, most people think it's stupid, but they'll take the points if it's their driver/team benefiting.

George Russell to M-B AMG Petronas F1 in 2022, Valtteri Bottas to Alfa-Romeo in 2022 and Kimi Raikkönen retiring from the sport. Apparently all signed and sealed according to some F1 media providers.

This is good news, Russell for obvious reasons, and Raikkonen because he lost his natural speed 15 years ago and seems to be even slower and slower with the years (or should I say decades…?).

How the f did Toto pull that one off for Bottas given that Alfa is essentially Ferrari

I believe to have read that Valtteri and Alfa-Romeo began conducting discussions a few months ago. Kimis' retirement is inevitable and the previous rumours indicating that Mick Schumacher would replace him at A-R have since evaporated (the most recent versions of "The Mick Story" speculating that he'll stay with Haas in 2022, having been (by Mattia Binotto/Scuderia Ferrari) assigned the task of "proving himself worthy" of a possible Scuderia Ferrari seat in 2023).

As for Toto Wolff: I imagine that he was able to exert his will, hence over-riding Lewis' possible resistance towards replacing the compliant, unthreatening Valtteri. I reckon that it became increasingly clear that Toto became unwaiveringly insistant that George Russell takes the seat in one of his cars. A smart albeit predictable "big picture" move.

I wonder if he'll leave motorsports all together or will try his hand at something else.

He's been Rallying and tried NASCAR, I'd love for him to make a move to DTM or something like that.. I'd also love for him to become Sky Sports F1 anchor replacing Martin Brundle. He'd be shoyt, but it would be hilarious.

Kimi would be a difficult employee. "Leave me the f*** alone. I know what I'm doing.".
