That finish was crazy ...I was so worried for Lewis ...well 7 times winner at Silverstone ...first driver ever to win 7 home races ..Record breaker.

So unlucky for Vatteri really feel for him a d the team was a guaranteed 1 and 2 again.

Lando again top notch
Ricardo and ocon also well down Renault.
Sorry for Sainz.
Albon???
Racing point very weak race and so bad for Nico.

The team that probably has the second best cars, Racing Point, is number 5 in the championship and has still no podiums....(!)
This is clearly due to their drivers, one of them should never have been in F1 and the other one has lately been ill/feeling ill. This makes me ask where would the team be today if they had a pair of drivers like Leclerc/Vettel or Norris/Sainz? This will be speculation and of course impossible to say for sure, but I am quite sure they would by now have at least a couple of podiums and very possible the double of points....

The team that probably has the second best cars, Raci...

Imagine both Max and Seb in a Racing Point car...

Nothing more than than hypothetical musings, of course. Yet still...I reckon that Max would be hot on Lewis' heels in the WDC and that Seb would be a solid third in the rankings. And a WDC down to the wire between Lewis and Max.

Man the end was epic.

Albon will loose his seat if he goes on like this.

Iove back to back race weekends

Poor Bottas paid the highest price for these shit tyr...
For a championship contender, finishing 11th is like a DNF.

The team that probably has the second best cars, Raci...
A seat in a Mercedes powered car should be chased by more driver. The problem with mid field teams is that their performance is too inconsistent from season to season.

The warehouse would have looked better if there were a few vintage Mercedes F1 cars in there.

When will Raikkonen understand it is time to retire? If you ask me he has been slow since he left McLaren 40 years ago. He lost his speed long before he became champ but was lucky with the circumstances.

Exciting finish, Perilli should investigate the hard compound tires sudden failures !

Mercedes again dominating, Lewis with faultless driving and top notch pole and race, although he was much luckier than Bottas with his late tire puncture.

Max is in another level, again he manages to be the only guy to consistently hold his position behind the 2 mercs, and beating his team mate with a large margin.

Solid performance from Leclerc, I feel that he can get the best out of his Ferrari. Where is Vettel ? is he done for ?

Riccardo was driver of the day for me, he made the race interesting with his dramatic overtakes, possibly the best driver when it comes to overtakes ? Renalut car seems to be better this weekend, and can give Mclaren difficult time.

Gasly is doing great in Alfa Tauri team, he is ahead of Albon whom to be honest never impressed me.

Next weekend is going to be 1, 2 Mercedes, no one can touch those cars, plus they will learn and improve from their mistakes (although I think it was Perilli mistake)

Bottas said they use DAS in safety car period and still got a pancture. That asks the qustion how much is Mercedes better with DAS ?

Seb certainly has his "off" days as a driver. But at Silverstone, I cannot escape the suspicion that there was indeed something seriously "off" with his car. It wasn't working at all in the FPs. And the inability to make any sort of progress in the race may indicate that his car was somehow "broken". Fine crack in the monocoque, perhaps ? The lack of structural integrity would heavily impair the ability to properly set-up a car. I recall this sort of thing happening to him at RBR at a race venue sometime during his championship years with the team.

I guess the question is, did the teams know that by making it a 1-stop race by pitting during that early yellow, that they would potentially be pushing these tires to their limit? ... or was it a surprise?

Racing Point deducted 15 points and fined heavily as Renault protest into car legality upheld

Racing Point have been deducted 15 world championship points and fined €400,000 after FIA stewards upheld Renault’s protest about the legality of the design of the team’s RP20 car.

Racing Point raised eyebrows at Barcelona testing when they unveiled a car that looked remarkably similar to last year’s championship-winning Mercedes. The team – who take an engine as well as several parts, including the suspension, from Mercedes as per the rules –admitted taking inspiration from the car, but consistently insisted what they had done is within the rules.

After the Styrian, Hungarian and British Grands Prix, Renault lodged a protest with the stewards, alleging that Racing Point’s brake ducts had been directly copied from the 2019 Mercedes.

And on Friday in Silverstone, the stewards delivered their verdict, upholding Renault’s protest.

Racing Point were fined €200,000 for fielding Sergio Perez’s car in Styria and the same amount for fielding Lance Stroll’s. They were also deducted 7.5 world championship points per car - though Perez and Stroll keep their drivers' championship points. Protests for the Hungarian and British Grands Prix were also upheld, with Racing Point reprimanded for using their car in both events.

Ah... the swirling pool of oil and water that is the F1/FIA rule book.
