From winning Pikes Peak Open class, annihilating lap record at VIR Grand Course and winning FoS shootout, to shamefully posting a lap time 26s slower than production based Xiaomi. :/

Is this a surprise given the Supervan novelty body style? It's massively down on power if you take into account it's significantly higher frontal area.

edit.. hmm the Van seems to have gained 600 hp at some point, it used to be 1400hp, now it's 2000?

edit.. hmm the Van seems to have gained 600 hp at some point, it used to be 1400hp, now it's 2000?

What I'm surprised about is that they took it to Nordschleife in the first place. OK, you've beaten the Corvette back, but it's different categories, which makes Ford look bad in the bigger picture.

I doubt they were running the 2000 hp (it should be 2200 hp) quad motor setup. Unless they upgraded the 50 kWh battery. But then it wouldn't look so slow.

They should have brought their Super Mustang Mach-E to hot-lap.

The press release explains that it's a tribute to Sabine's run in a Ford Transit.

It does actually misquote her though, she said she could do Clarkson's Jaguar Diesel time 'in a van', Ford are saying that she said 'in a Ford Transit'.
