New Fisker Project Ronin teased as four-door sports coupe
Fisker is gearing up to reveal the third model in its line-up - a four-door super GT that’s set to offer the longest range of any production EV

American EV firm Fisker has provided a glimpse of its Project Ronin sports car - a high-performance four-door GT to rival the Porsche Taycan, which aims to provide the longest range of any electric car on sale.

The brand has released this teaser image of the new sports car ahead of its unveiling in August 2023, indicating how it will look.

The Ronin was designed by the brand’s CEO Henrik Fisker, who also penned the BMW Z8 and numerous Aston Martins. Despite its electric underpinnings, the Ronin appears to adopt similar proportions to a traditional front-engined GT car. There’s a long bonnet and a sharp, pointed nose, with multi-element LED running lights integrated into the bumper.

The bonnet rises over the front wheels and to a steeply raked windscreen, and the Ronin is fitted with a pair of slender digital door mirrors and active aerodynamics systems. A visible shutline along the flanks indicates that the new sports car will be a four-door model in the mould of the first Fisker production car, the Karma, from 2011.

Like the brand’s first model, the Ronin is designed to seat four passengers in comfort, with space for luggage. The sports car will feature”‘unique doors for better ingress and egress”, which could mean a Rolls Royce-style rear-hinged design. The cabin will utilise vegan materials, too.

According to Henrik Fisker, the grand tourer could also provide the longest range of any production EV, thanks to a battery pack integrated into the car’s body structure:

"The aim is to achieve the world's longest range for a production EV, combined with extremely high levels of performance. Project Ronin will be a showcase for our internal engineering, powertrain, and software capabilities", said the CEO.

In a social media post on Instagram Fisker announced that Project Ronin would target more than 550 miles from a full charge. However, he stopped short of revealing any specifics when it comes to the energy the battery pack will offer.

Currently, the Lucid Air Dream Edition can go further than any other electric car, with an EPA range figure of 520 miles.

Fisker also outlined that the eventual production car would be priced from "just under $200,000" or a little less than £160,000.

Many EV manufacturers should have consulted with Fisker, somehow he seems to know what he is doing...
A shame about the disgusting quality of the photos, even so I want one of these urgently

Honestly, let's see what he can do in reality: there was quite some controversy about the company. And with 1000 produced and a handful of deliveries I'm withholding my judgement.

"Fisker faces investor questions on Ocean production miss
Among questions submitted by investors: missed production targets, buggy software and access to Tesla Supercharger network."

The Ronin looks like a Clay model...the others not so much or not, but this photo presenting so many new concepts/models at once sounds like a "resource" to me and reminds me of that time when Lotus. presented five "concepts" all Clay models also all at once, and three doritos later it went bankrupt, so I don't know what to think, Btw except the pick up, (I don't know if it's very original), all the others presented are here to win.

I actually was going to say EXACTLY the same thing when I did the SUV report. I called it the "Bahar Touch" but I edited it out.

I trust this is nothing like that fiasco, because that's exactly what it was!🙂

At least Fisker doesn’t seem like a full on scam artist / corporate thief like Bahar. I have a bit more hope here.
Totally agree, I think he always acts in good faith and has the expertise without a doubt, but let's not forget what happened to him with the beautiful Karma, things like that are not forgotten and he will try to avoid a situation like that at all costs, perhaps nerves betrayed him and he presented the whole cake together despite the fact that the "legacy" do not do it that way.

He must know his investors and those he wants to incorporate, let's hope he doesn't screw it up by being anxious since the products presented by him, in themselves have all the potential

Totally disruptive, but they already show that it will have outlandish prices like Lucid.....

Fisker Ronin Super GT Convertible: 600-Mile Range, $385,000 Price Tag
1.webp

Comes packing over 1,000 horsepower, but just 999 units will be made by hand.
Fisker, the maker of the Ocean all-electric SUV, released additional photos and details about its flagship model, the Ronin, which is described by the California-based EV startup as a Super GT convertible.

Unveiled last week during the marque's Product Vision Day 2023 event, where the Alaska pickup and affordable Pear models also made an appearance, the Fisker Ronin will feature an integrated battery pack that will enable an anticipated range of 600 miles on a full charge, all while seating five people.

The company, founded and led by automotive designer Henrik Fisker, says the Ronin will function as a sports sedan when the folding hardtop is raised, making it a sort of 2-in-1 vehicle, similar to what the discontinued internal combustion Mercedes-Benz S-Class convertible but with a carbon fiber roof instead of a cloth one and two extra doors.

According to the company, the foldable roof will be smartphone activated and retracts into the trunk, leaving "some luggage space." Additionally, there’s a front trunk that offers extra luggage space.

All doors can be opened remotely by a smartphone and a single door handle will be mounted on each side, seeing how the front doors open electrically by swiping the handle or by using the smartphone app. Then, the handle extends when the rear butterfly doors are ready to be opened.

Just 999 units will be built by hand, each with a price of $385,000, bringing the all-electric flagship into the same territory as the Bentley Continental GTC Mulliner W12 range-topper which starts at around $378,000.

Fisker says the projected 0 to 60 miles per hour time is approximately 2 seconds, while the top speed will be 170 mph, helped in part by the "over 1,000 horsepower" drivetrain and the use of lightweight materials throughout, like the aluminum space frame and the carbon fiber 23-inch wheels.

"The Fisker Ronin is for people who love to drive, but who are also thrilled by automotive art and design and demand that their high-performance vehicles embrace a sustainable future,” Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker said.

"Our goal was to create a classic grand touring car, updated for the 21st century and engineered for customers who want to drive from Los Angeles to Napa Valley on a single charge or take on the autobahn at steady high speeds without concern for battery capacity."

Inside, the California EV maker (that currently builds the Ocean SUV in Austria) says the Ronin will set new standards for sustainable luxury and will use innovative recycled and sustainable materials with the goal of making the electric Super GT convertible the world’s most sustainable supercar.

A 17.1-inch high-resolution screen and instrument cluster positioned in front of the driver will adorn the dashboard, with one of the photos showing a screen on the steering wheel itself.

Reservations for the Fisker Ronin are open on the company’s website, with a $2,000 deposit for the first pre-order and a fully refundable $1,000 for the second.

As always, we’d like to know what you think about this, so head over to the comments section below to give us your thoughts.

Call me crazy but even if i like the style, for this price i will take a Continental GT anyday!

You mean Greta Thunberg won't agree to go for a ride? I think I can live with that.

Greta no longer needs any form of transportation and her literal footprint has been reduced to net zero. Everything all of it!

So what powers this incredible new technology that allows her to travel against the powers of gravity?

Well, it's the muscle power of the fine German Police!

Look how happy she looks all carbon neutral!😛

I think a project like the Ronin is Fisker leaping before he’s learned how to run. He needs to get production of the Ocean up and running properly before jumping into new high end models, otherwise he will go fits up like the last time.

Many successful entrepreneurs have ran failed projects/businesses in the past. The Karma was Fiskers first production car brought to market. He deserves a second chance and will undoubtedly learned do’s and don’t that he makes him a better CEO today compared with 10 years ago.

Furthermore, if you are an investor who is keen on EVs and the automotive industry, finding people like Fisker to put your money behind is difficult.

He can/must prove himself by scaling up the production of Ocean. Producing a concept is easy, delivering 100 hand built models is challenging but scaling up to 10,000 cars per months is extremely difficult.

Running out of money and not detangling unexpected knots quickly enough will likely be his downfall. I am rooting for him because the Oceon has generated positive reviews and the Ronin is an endearing super EV.
