We’ve seen plenty of smashed Ferrari Enzos but this is the first time we’ve across images of a wrecked Bugatti Veyron. Information is sketchy, but it’s thought that a pool of water on the road caused the AWD supercar to lose traction and then spin out of control, sending it head first into a ditch. Most of the cabin section and engine compartment look relatively undamaged, however, it’s hard to determine what internal damage to the drivetrain there is if any. Hopefully the driver got out unscathed.

According to the source, this is the first time a private customer has actually crashed a Veyron. Engineers reportedly destroyed two prototype examples during testing, which was part of the reason for the long delays during the vehicle’s development.

I read somewhere, possibly from Wheels magazine, the monocoque of the Veyron has a torsional ridgity of 81000N/degree so the monocoque is extremely stiff and rigid, so this car probably didn't suffer any damage to the actual monocoque. Either way even though variouse car journos say the Veyron is as easy to drive as a Golf, it will still bite back when you have 1000hp plus, even if the car has 4WD.

What's up Andreas, you into crashes lately? ;)
I hope the owner has good insurance. The hood of an SLR has a 20 000 dollar price tag. I can't imagine how much the hood of a Veyron cost.

BTW, what's the blue thing at the back? A Parachute brake?

Probably some workers' bag :D

PS. It was about time we saw a wrecked Veyron..

News flash on the story. I have found out that the Veyron had only been in the owners possession for a week and it was his brother who crashed it. :eusa_doh: :D The 41 years old London millionaire is said to be devastated, according to one of his friends the car was his "baby". Poor dude :D Further more there is a bit question mark on wether the car can be repaired.
